I wish the X Games would have a second language pair of announcers with Jeff Grosso and Peter Hewitt. Similar to Spanish etc... The difference would be family friendly VS real skater language. I would even pay money to hear the non ESPN commentary 🤘

What's wrong with the ramp? It's X-games. Couldn't they have done a better job? It sounds wonky and not smooth at all.

I don’t know, I thought Sandro’s first run stomping three variations of 540’s wasn’t scored properly!!! He freakin killed it!! Definitely thought it was better than Kreiner’s....but that’s just me...sick skateboarding all around for sure though...

WHats sucks for other dudes is that the ollie 540 isnt hard for Jimmy. Its an "easy" trick for him but super hard for everyone else. I mean thats not Jimmy's fault its just that its such a new trick, its going to get him medals for a few years before other kids start doing it. I bet Jimmy brings a 540 ollie late flip next year.

Brusco should never do another flip trick again lol. This is a guy who got silver for air after doing a 1260 and silver for vert after doing a 900. He has atrocious luck.

Can someone explain why vert hasnt seemed to progress much in the last 10 years? Is there something I’m not seeing? It seemed like all of these tricks have been done for a while now. Not bashing the skaters, as I can’t do any of this, just an observation. Are there any new tricks that people are pushing that I missed?

I sincerely believe that if they put up a ramp like the one from animal Chin where no one has had a lot of time to practice the same old runs we would find out who the best really is. It’s the same old thing and the only real innovation is a hand position somewhere else and an extra half turn here and there. I know the big ramp has the potential to increase injuries if the skaters are not careful but it is still the best idea.

Poor Mitchie.

I got locked up in there years ago and it was terrible. They treated us horrible. Then six months after I was released I was pulled off the bus at the bus depot and handcuffed by the field officer from the ducomb center. Because on of my ex roommate in there robbed someone under the viaduct, and they thought i was somehow involved. I got on the bus with my mother it was one of the most embarrassing things to happen to me. They had no legal right to put me in handcuffs after you are released from there center.

I think if Mitchie didn't fall on his last run with the 900 he would have won without question that run was epic. I think he is pushing the bar and one of the best skaters. That 900 was one of the cleanest I've ever seen.

Bring the vert bake to X Game's. For a simple reason, on Big Air and Mega Ramp your no longer talking about a chance for young street skater's. Thankfully there are still street session's contest's, with everyone so addicted to big air and mega ramp get the Half Pipe Vert going again. Sure you may have to travel a little for a good Half Pipe Vert to practice on but it would be easier to set up indoor Half Pipe's. Then trying to set up a Mega Ramp or a Bid Air Ver indoor park it's not going to happen.

1:18:45 so the 900 is not that big of a deal nowadays for what I can see...

He had a beautiful run save for the bail. Be should've taken a little easier towards the end and simply brought it home. He got too overly confident when he already had it in the can. It wouldve been amazing to see him go from 3rd place to 1st.

@@andreungerer3531 There's a lot of new tricks that are awesome like the 360 and 540 ollies and Elliot Sloan 720 heel would have been the best trick if he landed it. But more that 2 540 in one run is too much I think. They should do flip back tail slides and switch back smiths and bs noseblunt slides haha They are super good though just thought some hade 5-6 540 in one run with different grabs.

I haven't watched a vert contest in 15 years until popping this on. Everyone looks the same and it's really boring. I agree that they ignore the lip and that's a place where you can get so creative (hell just ask the announcer. He made his living off the lip). I also think the mega ramp contest is boring. They should have a part that's not a run. Just the gap, and put the rail in as an option. Make it worth it to not try a "safe" gap trick. I only watched one video so maybe they do, but what I saw was just Spinny McSpinnerson for days.

I'm not a skater AT ALL but as I understand it, you land a 360 blind but have a visual on a 540?

@@k2lar partially, but you need make another 180 degrees, for 540, but yeah the landing is easier then 360's in bowls etc., because you can land in your regular ridiing direction, instead of fakie. ali oop mainly means you rotate opposite way to flight/riding direction instead of rotating with flight/riding direction, those making ali oop more difficult then doin' the "standard" way. example.: fs 180*/360/540 (your back is always pointed inside the ramp/pool/bowl and you look to the roof - outside), alioop fs *180, your back (back, back arm, rotates out the ramp and you look into the ramp), it's the rotation direction around your body axis which is different. you force your body to rotate opposite the given vector/rotation, needs all to be done by your muscles, cannot use the velocity/impulse of the riding direction, needa overcome it and give your body backward/opposite spin/impulse. (dunno if anyobody who never did it understands this, I do, an I've never really done it, except wonky, cheated ali oop boneless, but that was cause I was loosing balance, came out in silly angle. So not on purpose, then the mate close to me. "oh, you're ven doin' ali oop, well then I did on purpose, but I cannot control it, nore do it in 4.5m vertramps).

Does X-games use intermittent acts like clowns or less than pro skaters to entertain between takes? Or sessions?
