@xgames in worst case scenario, get at least a vert skater back on commentary... that guy seems to be doing a "react video" instead of adding anything meaningful to what we see =/

I'm a big Gary Rogers fan but I think he'd be best utilized for adding "vert side" commentary. His energy is unmatched but he's not knowledgeable enough to do live vert or park commentary.

I love vert. I was building vert ramps in the mid 70's. I had two friends that skated, but one was a freestyle loser who wouldn't ride the ramp. Hahaha. This was in Tennessee and our only connection to the skateboard world was Skateboarder magazine, which kept us stoked and tubed. lol Tony Alva was the man.

Um, what happened to commentators with solid vert knowledge? I'm sure they're solid with street but vert needs work.

Nobody noticed that Gui Khury's second 900 was an Indy 9. I don't even think anyone's done one on a vert ramp before. Tony Hawk was trying them decades ago and never landed one.

I noticed too, tony did mute 900 in skate demos in 2000s. However, indy 900 was a special trick too in his vídeo game series if i recall.

nobodies touching jimmy and moto is just as tech and groundbreaking as tate and he does rotations on his tricks, i do think he maybe should have beat out gui for third though. its crazy how many rotations he gets in but thats just about all his runs have. vert skating is about a lot more than how quickly you can spin around

I agree. I’m a long time fan and appreciate Gary for that but him raggin on Gui the whole time for just havin fun killed it for me. He’s 13. Let him have fun. He’s a star for getting the 10 IN FRONT OF TONY AND BEATING TONY. Just let the kid be a kid dude. Your commentary is so down and negative for the young love, my man. I love watching Gui have fun and dance. I would have loved to be that confident at that age.

i felt bad for tate and elliott putting down their monster runs just to get moved up to fourth, but gui is landing such crazy rotations in comp that hes gotta be on the podium, moto's tricks are on another level tech wise, and jimmy's style and no grab tricks are untouchable so i completely understand tate and elliott not medalling

I like the guys that did it tho.. they did a good job! We just need the classixs

Love the comp but I wish there was a Gary mute button, can't find anybody better than him for XGames? It was a hard listen

I'd hate to be the guy having to ride the volume on Gary's microphone. Dude goes from mumble whisper to yelling all over the place.

Gary is not a vert skater. It's not his world. There are names for the grabs they're doing! A slob and a mute air are different, a backside air and a lien air are different. Calling every grab just a, "grab," really dumbs down the contest and doesn't give any credit to the actual tricks these dudes are doing. When I first started skating as a kid, I learned the names of tricks from watching contests and listening to commentary. Gary calling a vert contest is doing a clear disservice to the viewers. He's good at what he does, but it's clear he's not qualified to call this style of contest.

Thanks for the xgames, but the commentary is definitely lacking. The rambling was putting me to sleep while trying to watch.

The clash between commentators is going to ruin the franchise... I can feel the tension, and it's fukcing awful... One guy has soul and loves the sport. and the other is just a robot who doesn't even seem to know what level these skaters are at, or what they're even doing.... Which, as a skater is really fukcing annoying...

If you skated the X games in the era of Gary Rogers I apologize, this man is hardly paying attention to some of the best runs and to top it all off his unprofessionalism is the reason skateboarding is still not taken serious by the outside. Keep your content on Thrasher just don't do this you're not helping in my opinion.

Soon as I heard Gary Rodgers name being announced as commentator, I clicked off. NOT FOR VERT dude. Please.

Whoever they have doing color commentary needs to get fired NOW. It's an embarrassment. These are the X-Games, people! Extreme sports doesn't get better than this. But if we have people like that running the show, I'm not so sure anymore.

Worst commentators. They can’t name the tricks and add nothing to each run. Hire better people to do the job.

Oh, you're fine with the sport, it's just the coverage of women you don't agree with. Believe me, ESPN isn't a charity, if there was money in showing BMX they would show it. People are just more interested in women's skating.

I could live without the annoying commentator whoever he is.
