my box is tuned to 30hz so i know its not going to be loud. i have the amp crossover set at 60hz but even with a sweep you can hear it at 100hz, its not loud but its there. with that knowledge i have the coax in the rears set to 120hz-up to fill the mid bass drop off. the front is at 150hz-up this setup helps me set my front stage sound clearer even in the loudest volume i can go before clipping

Crossover from head unit whenever possible. If you can't then download and make a 0db test tones usb or CD for tuning your crossover. Play the desired cross over tone at a low volume use a multimeter on speaker connection at the amp and measure voltage drop while adjusting your crossover points. This will give your PRECISE adjustments, many times the writing doesn't march what the knob is doing.

I had a custom enclosure built for for a quad cab ram to fit these in the truck, a very short video is on my page, running the rp3500 on them.

Put the meter on hold and put it on the frequency mode to find what frequency it was

i have 2 vxf-15s in a gpaudio elite glue and screw tuned at 38hz . each sub has a taramps 5k amp , twin 320 amp alt plus stock up grade to 240amps . 1 run of 4/0 welding wire split 4 ways of 1/0 , 2 to each amp . rear hatch welded soilid then filled the side and roof with foam . using a fire 8 tablet as my stereo . these subs are on sale for $290 each when they nuke already have the news parts ready . pierce audio voice coil 8 layer with stainless former , 4 spiders and 1 with 2 leads . carbon fiber cones with 10 inch carbon cap ant 5 inch poly cap . with that recone in it should do 160 db im at 156 now

That port needs to be upfire or sidefire it would be louder.should be doin a 144 at least

His hits harder cuz it’s on more power 💀 and he’d be louder with the port at the back instead of the front...and his peak is prolly 35-40hz...play 38hz and put it in the kick you’ll see a 143

Those subs should be louder than that, you need a bigger box or properly tuned box and crossovers. Parker the basshead was hitting high numbers with just one of the VXFs.....

I just recently got a VFX-12 D2 wired at 1ohm on a Sk2500. My gain is all the way up but I can’t turn up the knob very high or it says it’s clipping so I don’t get how your guys are so loud without clipping it.

My skv2 1500.1 is about 3/4 of the way up on an evl. It says it's clipping but that's the only way it sounds worth a dam 🤷🏾‍♂️ I wonder how accurate that clip light on the bass knob really is.

Nice setup but they are definitely capable of getting a better score. My 2 old pioneer premier 3004 12's did a 143 box tuned to 32hz and on a older hifonics Brutus 2000 which definitely didn't do near rated. Still nice setup though I'll have to say

Lol @ some of these comments. K. First off. Anyone talking about where their gain is set. Please take your stuff and let a professional install it for you. It's not a volume knob. 2nd. You can run all the power and gadgets that you want to and if you don't have the proper airspace and port volume to specs then you are loosing dbs. Your port size is just as important as enclosure size. Also. If your box flexes in any way it will affect it. Next. If your enclosure is not mounted solid to the vehicle you loose more dbs. Take care off all those things first and then worry about power and settings. As far as what they can handle, if you have the electrical setup right and can keep your voltage high and feed them an unclipped signal they can handle about 2500 rms each all day every day. Make sure to use your subsonic filter right to keep the frequency range above anything that could bottom out the woofer. Now. On the real. Have done a lot of experimenting with these vxf12s and have found the optimum output. Mine are in 2.1 cubes each with 60in of port tuning to 33hz on a 5000rms amp. I can meter 148db every day on music. Does hair tricks even being trunk mounted. Have been doing this for over a year now. I can't stress how important it is to keep your voltage correct. Never smelled coil at all. And for all you people saying use this and use that. Do what you want but meet the manufacturers specs on size and tuning. You can have all the best stuff and if things aren't done correctly it won't sound like it should.

Getting ready to put 2 of these on a Synergy WFO 3.1, which is basically a 5k. Will report back, these subs beg for power and can handle it very well. I was free airing with an Rp 1500 and it wasn't even touching them.

I’ve always heard that it’s hard to beat a good factory system. Sure, you can get more boom aftermarket but with all the variables like speaker positioning and windows, I think it would be hard to beat a GOOD factory such as B and O.

How the fuck, I just don't get it. Got the same two VXF 12s and the same SKV2 3500.1D amp and my shit hits nothing like that. Granted he's in a trunk and I'm in a car, can't be that much difference between them or is it? My alternator is 320 amp output, got a optimum yellow top battery under the hood, got a XS Power D3400 in the trunk, my voltage runs 13.9v to 14.6v and my enclosure is tuned to 30Hz. My gain is just below half way (can't past that without clipping) and no matter what what I do the 3500 never even gets warm. 141?? That's it? Something is not right. He should be hitting a minimum of 145 and should be be around 147-150+

VFX-12's are good from 22-250hz. If you're set at 50hz you're not getting near what they are capable of.

I must be getting old, I love audio and that's why I'm here but I just don't understand this kind of car audio at all? Big Darren the bass over powers my microphone even tho my mids and highs are louder than my bass its all about the microphone and how it picks up the audio system different microphones picks up the audio different some can handle it most can’t
