Very underated on the power handling. I'm running 2 of these wired to 1 ohm taking 7000w rms on a Sundown Audio sfb 8000d. Definitely suggest a custom well made and braced enclose. I've blow a few hi quality pro fab boxes with these already and subs are still stiff after banging them for a few months now. Great subs for the mo ey for sure.

I love my VXf 15" I ran it temporary on a Skar rp800.1DM which does 1200 @1ohm and it was loud it hit hard n all.. but when my Taramps HD3000 came in OMG... Huge difference it gets windy I can blow things around in my windows. It's ridiculously loud. And yes it can handle your 4k it's a very very strong woofer. I got my 15" on the Taramps HD3000 and it's giving that Vxf 15" 3400+ watts daily and it takes it no prob.. the motor stays cold the coil gets a lil warm but it's fine I run it hours at a time multiple times daily blasting it. I mean I'm not full tilt all the time but I do stretch its legs daily 😂. Dude the 15" version of this sub is absolutely incredible..

That rp 800 ain't putting out 1200 at 1 ohm .. impedance rise ain't letting u get nowhere near that 1200

The VXF is a great choice if you listen to a lot of rebassed stuff even if you don’t have 1000w+ they barley move but still dish out monster lows - I went from an DDX and EVL same box amp everything it was night and day on a 1200w amp

Would you say it's still as good as the evl and ddx when not doing the lows? I have a ddx and I love it just want thst plus the lows don't wanna sacrifice the higher bass tho

I have two of these bad boys 2 12s VXFs running on a skar skv2 2500-1D. They thirst for more juice while taking all the power like a champ. Should have bought the skv2 3500 or up

Vxf a beast i like how skar makes there subs then under rates them and i agree with u i think this is a 2500-3000rms sub for under $300 can't wait for the next vid 😁

I run 15k clamped on my 2 vxf 12s for testing and they take it clean. 10k on music for short periods easy. My 2 12s in my encloser hits 151.1db.

so then do u think the skar rp3500.1 isnt enough juice for two of these 15s?? Wired at 1 ohm it'll provide 2k to each sub at 14.4V. Maybe I should have bought the 4500.1 instead. great.

@@lowhertzhighspl shiyld of bought the sk series they are much mlre stable and last longer. The 3500 is going to work but remember after bix rise youre not going to be playing that 4500. If the rp ecen will do it, if you have perfect electrical. Probably closer to 2k to 3k total rms real world

@@bailey2517 For the price I'm impressed with the SDR subs. I bought two 10's for my living room to replace my old Orion XTR series 3. These subs hit so much lower than my Orions I put the tens in my car and ordered the loaded SDR 15's for my living room. The 15's sound great and hit low as fuck in my living room. The tens sound decent in my car considering they're in cheap vented boxes I bought on amazon.

If I ever blow my evl 12 I might have to switch it out with this beast. Great video 👍👊

Between this and American base, I'm shopping to change up my 5th gen type R's out of the skar and others youve tested what YOUR personal favorite?

the frame is a ti frame made by tc sounds . they use a 10 inch spider for the 12,15,and 18 in frame . desighed for 4 inchs of throw with a 3 inch 8 layer copper coil and a mega roll surround . 90 percent of spl subs use this frame

The Skar RP4500.1D should put out enough power. If not go with the SK series.

whats the diffrence between the 12 vxf and the 12 zvx and which is better on there page they both have the same rms just different price

From my understanding vxf = SQ & zvx = spl

You have to get an AB HD 12

Smart 3 it’s 260$ and a true 3k and it fights emp rise puts out 3k from 1-2 ohms

The best sub under $300 is the 15" Skar VXF =) . I'd know I just received two! (now I just need to buid a box)

I was somewhat making a joke because you said the best sub under 300 is the vxf 12 and i said the vxf 15 bcuz its still under 300. My new labyrinth dual 15 box arrives Friday, I'll install the two new VXF 15s and try to record something this weekend.. I already have a video of the dual L7Ss 12s (44L7S122) performing which isn't great but will compare to the vxf 15s. I also now upgraded to the Skar RP3500.1 which actually made the Kicker L7s sound better comp,ared to the Rockville dB16 I was using to power them (2K RMS vs 3.8K RMS)

Very very gorgeous sub!! Maybe in the future could you do one on CT sounds 2500 to 3,000 w sub? It's the Meso series

I replaced the Meso 12d4s with 2 12d2s vxfs and the VXFs are way cleaner and hit way harder. Blew apart the CT Sounds Enclosure made for the Meso by CT Sounds.

Do you have to run speaker wire to both sets of terminals on this sub with one amp powering it?

No it is not an absolute requirement. however keep in mind that if you only run one side of the speaker you would only be running one coil. Meaning that you will be cutting the power handling in half. so whatever the peak and RMS ratings are you would have to cut them in half when putting power to it.

The VXF-12 would be an better choice.

Please compare to the SoundQubed HDX3 at $279. SoundQubed is my favorite budget company and I don't see alot of tests on you tube with them.

start with Skar's RP lineup. the 3500 should do you just fine.

On the box shows ccaw. Thought it was all copper coil

U can I have myne on a rp1500 if u can get a 2500 watt or 3000 but dont get nothing cheaply made

I have 2 of these bad boys on a 3,000 watt hi fonics amp and these subs are laughing at my amp I need to upgrade. I’m thinking 5,000 watt Orion. I’ve seen a guy on KZread with a sundown 6k on these subs and they can handle the power.

I hope it's the best sub I'm getting ready to put 2 in my car with a Sundown 4K. What do you think. Please comment back.

There really isn't a comparable speaker in the skar line up currently that's apple's to apple's to the sav2 the ddx is very comparable to the sav1 this sub would be similar in size to the U or X series

Did you get the sub from the SKAR website or Amazon?

I got (2) VXF 12's on a jp 23, @1ohm, they sound amazing but barley moving. Can't wait to put them on my new Salt 3k, but dang that baby was expensive! $1,200.00 Bucks.

@heavy12inchSub Already got my electrical done, Mechman 320 alternator, with the RVC Bypass on my 2011 Silverado, voltage stays above 14.8 all time, with (2) XS D3400 batteries, 1/0 ofc, Big 4. I have heard too many bad things about those Brazilian amplifiers, besides they are shaking whole house on that Salt 3k, or at least what my wife says. 5 k sounds like it might be too much, you can definitely sent too much power, as so can you underpowered them too. Accounting for impedance rise, they are getting 4,200 watts RMS.

Just installed a taramps smart 3k, my vxf eats it like nothing might need to get a 5 or 8k taramps makes stupid amount of power just make sure u got electrical for it 👍

I'll do a full video on 1. It's inverted in a prefab cerwin vega ported you can find online. Obviously modified with epoxy. I haven't put on a meter to find it's tuning. But low notes doesn't mess around.

VXF ftw def stretches out. Dual runs of 12 gauge. 10 was tight af. Also 1500 watts is underrated so far subkzread.info/dash/bejne/rHWFxMuylbXIkdY.html

Seems to me someone is a little partial to Skar lol But it's a solid sub but to me Skar is decent they fail allot I don't think there quality control is that great

Bruh, you smokin crackk if ya think this a 3k rms woofer lmao you're trying to put this in a category above a damn sundown NightShade nsv4 with a neodymium motor?!?!? C'monnn now, sundown rates the nsv4 at 2.5k rms and the damn Zv5's at 2k rms.... If this woofer takes 3k rms all day long and never takes any damage or gets hot then i will buy every single one that skar has in stock 🤣 I am currently running four Sundown X15d2's on two Soundqubed 4.5k's and my amps are wired at half ohm each gain matched so you're talking 6k worth of subs and 9k-case of korean amp (capable of doing more than 4.5k each) and if i want to i can wrinkle my surrounds enough to make you cringe and wanna look away lol but them sundowns just keep taking it and loving it... Last setup I had four Sa15's on two skar sk3500.1's strapped so 3k of woofer and 7k of amp but they definitely got warm and smelly if I got heavy with the knob where these sundowns are very much maxed out excursion wise and even goin hamm on em full tilt for an hour n half drive they never get smelly at all... Alot of that has to do with the fact it is CLEAN power too tho, I've got a CES 300amp alt charging my rear bank and the stock 160amp running the truck with 2- XS Power D3400's under the hood and a D3100 piggybacking them but stored in the rear behind the trim panel (yukon denali, lots of room) those are running off the oem 160amp and then i have a juicebox 40ah lith charging on the 300amp CES ALT
