I agree! SVR is a BIG step up from SDR and DDX even more.

Great review my man, I appreciate that you include the sound characteristics. Some subs can get super fatiguing after a while. Which do you prefer, these SVRs or the R3s? I personally go for SQ with subs that can get low over SPL any day.

Thank I appreciate the comment! For me I would take the R3 because it’s tighter and more accurate with natural quick rock percussion it still hits the low notes nicely. The SVR hits the lows a little better but lacks the accuracy of the R3 with fast drums on n rock music. There is always a compromise with subs. Both sound great, blend well and have a great sound so it mainly could kea down to tightness and accuracy. Svr isn’t bad as far as accuracy it’s just a comparison between the two subs. I would take the R3 for its crispness and accuracy myself. Because I do have a lot of rock and metal in my playlist.

Hey man i have these two exact subs with a armored skar prefab box tuned to the recommended 34 hertz, you’re seem to get a lot lower are your boxes tuned pretty low or you think you may just be putting more power?

Warm and smooth isn't what I would consider Skar. I would be looking at a SSA Demon if I was you. Or if you need more the icon.

Hey so I'm really looking at these Subs the svr 12 at 4 Ohms each I already have the Dual 12-in skar ported box but right now I only have a kicker cxa800.1 amp so I would only be putting 400rms to each 800rms svr 12. So basically half of what they can take, do you think they would still sound good with that set up? And I always have room to throw a Skar RP 1500.1 amp in down the road but for now do u think my 800w kicker amp will do the job? I would really appreciate your feedback and appreciate your videos! Hope to hear back thanks!

It will work fine with your amp but you will not be getting their full potential. The 12" SVR need around 1K watts each to get the most out of them. But it also depend on son much of a BASSHEAD you are. For normal listening you may be fine with 400W each.

Great review. I’m a RF guy from the early 80’s and I just burned out a power T1D212. I was driving it with a RF T1000-1bdCP. I had it in prefab sound ordnance ported enclosure. It had really clean sound with the Audio Control DQ61 tuning it. But… I burned the sub and totally locked it up. I’m looking for another sub that won’t break the bank, and this review was really great. I’m somewhat of an audiophile, and everyone who ever got in my whip said they never heard a cleaner system. A couple who have their own rookie setup got beef with. My sound. lol. I have a set of Hertz HSK 165XL’s and the matching coaxial’s in the rear doors. They are driven by a JL 800.8 bridged to 200x4. The Hertz are related at 125w per, but they handle 200 no problem and are as crisp as can be. For a 400$ set of components it the front, I am very pleased. They were extremely bright for the first couple months, but now after 3 years, they have settled down to an amazing mid budget set of components. I would love to hear from this community if 1-DVC 2ohm12 like the Rockford one I just blew would be cleaner sound than say a set of DVC 4ohm 12’s or any other config. My tastes are SQL 100% but I love it loud AF but it MUST BE CLEAN!! I’d rather lose some volume over hearing any muddy bass. Unfortunately I have a sedan and the bass is in the trunk. That muds it a bit due to environmental conditions. Please y’all. Let me know what you think. Excellent review though. Not too much bullshit and you cut straight to the meat and potatoes of the info. Since audio legion is out of business I probably won’t do that video but I can tell you the differences besides the physical similarities the audio legion definitely looks nicer in my opinion also the audio legion is tighter and more accurate than the SVR. Both sound very similar but this is where the gladiator stands apart its accuracy and tightness. I would say if you listen to rock or metal the gladiator is better but if you listen to rap or hip-hop the SVR is great.Hope this helps.

In my 20’ Honda Civic turbo I upgraded my (1) 10” Skar SDR dvc2 in factory ported enclosure to the Skar SVR 10” DVC2 and I purchased a Down4Sound JP8 to swap out the Skar RP 800I for sure stay in the 1000 watt club & under to stay away from big 3 because I’m not competing or trying to impress ladies down the block even though they do hear my music coming/going but for me only. I started with the punch in my 89’ Honda CRX with the punch 45 and (1) punch pro 15” sub upgrading to the punch 150 and (1)the punch pro 18” sub in high school. I was the “King of Boom” in the early days!#🔊❤️

Understood and your right! Always wanted it but the struggle is real out here as you know and I always try to drive a nice new Honda with Stereo upgrades and always had a rule or cap of 1K watts as my limit on my sub amp I just don’t need more at 50 years old! It’s just my personal rule! I did buy a New Intestate bigger Green Top battery to get rid of dinky Honda battery! The svr subs work well in sealed enclosures. Just go as big as you can volume wise.

It depends on the music you listen to and where you are at for sound quality or SPL. Let me know and I’ll throw you a few good choices. Also if you will run ported or sealed.

I was going to go with 2-american bass xfl 12 2- infinity kappa 62IV 6.5 2- infinity kappa 93IV 6X9 2- Skar evl 6 inch subs 4- infinity reference 3032 cfx 3.5 1 Kicker 660.5 amp 1 sundown sfb 5000d amp. Is the sundown amp too much power? I was thinking about stetsom 3000 watt amp? This will be put in my 2010 camaro. Any suggestions? I was thinking about skar 12 svr bc it's hard to get a box tuned for camaro bc the trunk is small. I was think to get the skar evl 6.5 to add more bass to help the svr. Suggestions please

I did exactly this. 800.1D at 1 ohm to a single SVR-12 D2 in the Skar 12” tube box. (I pulled out the original 800w sub and dropped in the 1600w SVR-12 D2. I mean damn. I’m in a RAV4 and it’s outstanding!!!

If u go look at timpano audio t1500 12d4 they look exactly like these svr and gladiator I got them today for 68 bucks 153oz motor 800rms 2.6in VC I got 4 of them for 275 sale is over but it's like timpano audio gets there subs from the same build house as skar just go check em out literally from there lower subs to there sub that's like zvx there all just like skar but go check it out

Svr sounds better to me musically. The sundown E isn’t as musical but it is well built and moves more air. Don’t just depends on what you are looking for for.

Fs on these are a bit high. I assume the suspension must be a bit stiff.
