wheel ups, pull ups, reloads, this come all the way from reggae and dancehall, you find them in jungle, garage, grime, dubstep all type of music that inherits that dna

Lethal B was a garage MC back in the day had a a tune called oi with more fire crew came out in 2000/2001 it used shut down the Garage raves. Wiley was part of Pay as you go they were all making that dark Garage that evolved into Grime.

Last track is so solid - envy. Ms dynamite arguable the hardest female mc verse to this day. Deserves its own reaction. Whole thing was pure garage but I think you can see how some elements of grime came from this. There was plenty of drama between this lot so yes..tension The guy you said had a lot of kids is Major Ace who died in 2017 from a brain tumor. He was in pay as you go but I think he also had a time in nasty crew (someone please correct me if I'm wrong). Ghetts mentions him on legends

Garage is very much party music and still is till this day, dont expect much substance or structure. Instrumentals hold just as much weight as the MCs and if you've never really listened to DJ only sets then listening to this, focusing on the bars probs is the wrong idea. It's all about the vibe honestly, sun is out, everyones drinking, beats are pumping, people dancing, no ones really focusing on the lyrics unless they catch the beat nicely with some popular bars. A lot of the sets you see that are over 1 million views are purely because of the names involved in my opinion and doesn't necessarily mean they're the best sets. In terms of history though this is at the top because you would never see these groups all together on the same set back in the day

@jurnalist So as I’m sure you’ve figured out there’s many influences that make up Grime. It’s safe to say the basic format for the the mc’s going over instrumentals and spitting there best bars, clashing driving the crowd crazy and winning a reload comes directly from Dancehall. I’d go as far to say it’s the base that all the other strands are built on. Dancehall, jungle,UKG,Grime to mention just a few are definitely a diverse mix of many cultures that come here UK and made it home. Weather you was fighting for the mic in the youth club spitting fire in the hallway of the flats or trying to lay something down using the headphones as a mic it’s great to see how far the uk sound has come. It’s great watching your journey into our world, keep up the good work.

Swiss is the best in the room. Lovin' everyone's energy in there though. As for the beats there was Garage in there but there was also a lot of Jungle beats mixed in as well.

Mans would plug headphones into the mic jack on a hifi and use the left one as a mic and just go back to back on a tune. We used to do that at school. Mans is old 😂

It wasn’t bout the lyrics as such bro, it was hype and vibes. It was a UK culture the times these mans was about. So don’t deep it too much, more time, it’s energy and fun. Gas club early 00’s! If you know you know 💪🏻

Garage was and still is great. It was all about feeling good vibes with everyone making an effort to dress up nicely. The cost of following the scene probably lead to the emergence of the grime scene, in my opinion.

All the influences come back to Jamaica, as does US rap, which comes comes from toasting which in turn comes from African chanting. As does Jungle, Garage, Grime and a whole load of other genres.

That light skin guy at the start of the video that you thought was cache from so solid is neutrino. And wiley used to be in pay as you go cartel then he left to start eski beats the rest is history! And bushkin is at 21:55 in, he's apart of heartless crew with mighty moe and fonty. That female mc at 36:18 is Ms dynamite and the songs called envy another song to look out for is Ms dynamite - boo... the whole verse is hers then it's asher d and mega man arguing in the tune, it's like a friendly clash between each other and mega man was schooling asher d saying don't get ahead of your self remember who brought you. Then he dissed dizzee rascal by calling him a bitch in the corner referencing dizzee rascals album at the time called boy in the corner. He dissed him after dizzee rascal slapped a female artist bum (Lisa mafia) that was apart of so solid crew and dizzee end up getting stabbed by one of the members of so solid crew 'allegedly' that also caused the fued between wiley dizzee falling out as friends and went their separate ways. Look into that beef one of the biggest in garage and grime at the time. Sorry for the information over load. Thought you'd like to know though lol

So solid crew were the originators, then Wiley came with his sound and grime was born. Wiley was at radio, and said dizzee will merk Asher d, then the whole of so solid came to radio building, and Wiley said to all their face as back then south london vs east London was a beef. Asher D has an interview in NFTR and so does Wiley, that’s where I watched it.
