I was gonna write a comment explaining all the questions but many ppl have already covered it in different comments lmao One thing I'll add, the translation on the San Yan line (that refers to one of the producers of of the group Balming Tiger who convinced RM to postpone his enlisment and worked with him in this album in 2023) is not translated correctly, it should be "With San Yawn, makin' mom worried sick" (from the official MV lyrics), so he's saying he's up to no good and making his mom worry abt him, in the following line however he goes "no matter what, above the law I'll never go, never, no" so as mentioned previously in the album, he's partying, smoking, having fun, leting go of the RM of BTS idol persona for a bit in order to find himself again, and that is making his mom worry, but he reaffirms that he'll never act like he's above the law just bc he's famous. In context for the kpop industry, specially recently, many scandalls have come out of horrific shit some idols would do to women in secret clubs including from members of a group that ppl have compared BTS to since their debut, so in my heart that was also a slight jab at them. Groin is a song abt ppl who use BTS (cough cough kpop companies that tried to sabotage them for years, cough cough their goverment who uses them as a fomr of soft power but stilll made them serve in the military cough cough the monk who broke his trust by giving interviews to the press abt his visit) and ppl who put pressure on him as the leader of BTS to be a savior of the world and fight for every issue hapenning at any given moment just bc him and BTS are/have always been socially conscious artists, and also ppl who put pressure on him to act like an idol. I would usually agree with you on songs like this, but surprisingly for me personally, this is one of my favorites from the album. I knew as soon as this came out that most people who have never listened to Joon and don't know his story are not going to like this. Joon clearly decided to just let everything that has been annoying him out of his heart and I respect that. (this is too easy to understand for many people and I can't blame them. I have to admit, I usually condemn songs like this, where there is a lot of swearing as a very lazy solution lyrically). his honest feelings about these years when he's just had to swallow all the crap was lovely to hear though. that's why this hits so deep in me, after all, I've been following his growth for 8 years already. you have no idea how much I enjoy listening to your opinions. thank you for still hanging out with us💜
