Remember watching this in a pub in Dublin after Ireland beat Wales, though I was disappointed Wales lost, everyone was roaring when Scotland beat England for the first time in years! It was incredible to watch!

Absolute brilliant love how our country gets behind this song so well in the rugby.

Many emotions from a mid-aged HKner, I mean the first one was Hong Kong anthem before 1997, second is much much more inspiring and showing the Scots have massive pride of the beautiful bonny Scotland, my huge respect.Scotland. This match also reflects the 2000 March which Scotland slammed England s grand slam, superb.

As an outsider (I'm from Denmark) I find the English melody alright as well but the lyrics are just dull. The *English* anthem should be about *England* and the *English people* , not about God and a Queen. Come on. How about going for Rule Britannia instead or something? Or maybe even Land of Hope of Glory even though that one also has a God bit in it..? I'm sure there's a lot of other songs I'm simply not aware of considering the history of England, but at least both of those songs are better than the lyrics of their current one. "God save the Queen" just seems like such a ... "Hail the Dear Leader" type of song to me. :/

its about time the english get their own anthem for sport instead of just reusing the old and rather boring god save the queen something like jerusalem or the like would be mutch better but it never stood a chance in parliament as the english rugby teams thing made it clear they are content with god save the queen and wont support or go against changing it basically a good old "we dont give a shit there is no point" though i do think changing it will bring more patriotism

D G yes they are not obliged to sing it, but it's a good indication whether a player/team is there for money and personal gain only or whether they play for the jersey and what it stands for

I love the words to Highland Cathedral. Flower of Scotland is my favorite I am a Scot living in America and it gets played at the Highland Games. It brings a tear to the eye.

Im english my grandmother was scotish im proud that i sing god save the queen and flower of scotland it brings back memories of her making me learn the words to flower of scotland and telling me to be proud to have scotish ancestry and im am

Embarrassed not only to have to be part of U.K but to have to stand for that God save the queen. Hardly any of the Scots stand for it. Including myself

The English team was coached on the words to the first verse and chorus of “god save the Queen”. Because many of them only knew the chorus and they knew every Scottish player would be singing along, so didn’t want England looking bad because some weren’t singing… Scotland told their team not to add the “‘genst who?”, “t’ da wit?” And “expletive” in the chorus. However you can see some of the players start laughing because even though they’d been told not to, they knew what was coming from the crowd. England requested Scotland only sing the 1st verse and chorus. Was that to keep it short or because the didn’t want their crowd mumbling incoherently to the second verse or was it because it’s about putting us Scots in their place? Who knows… but Scotland agreed on the condition, we went last… Knowing full well the crowd would continue… however the Scottish team got into trouble for also continuing. Every, single, one!
