Years of video game racing tell me I’d be great in that car. Years of real life driving tell me I’d be dead in the first 30 seconds lmao
That GT40 makes a classic sound that never gets old.

@@landon_shonuff1181 Yes - the team have registered it under chassis GT40P/1029....but original chassis 1029 was destroyed during '66 Le Mans practice. This car is at best a re-creation, albeit a very good one. Mind you, if they keep entering enough top-flight events in the car, and enough people start to think it's an original, would that eventually drive up its value? Or am I being cynical?

I thought that was me driving for a moment. But then I realized I don't have that kinda driving skill, and I don't own a GT40 and I've never been to the French countryside :-)
Oh the sound of that V8 howling away was just music to the ears. So glad he didn't damage the car when he spun but it did sound like he missed a gear at some point during the run
Outstanding! Imagine doing this for 24hrs...in the day and night, (maybe rain)with 40 other cars surrounding you. LeMans is no joke, especially back in the day.

The ultimate relaxation!
Two things stand out for me in this video: 1. The camera position behind the drivers head absolutely works perfectly. I really got a sense of speed and acceleration watching it. 2. that car is a BEAST. Trying to control it, the driver looked like he was wrestling a bull. Thumbs up.

If you never crash you're not trying hard enough, a spin counts! Much respect for pushing that hard in something so valuable! Thanks for sharing.
If you listen as he spun it around after he spun you can hear him chuckling. Absolutely love the sound of a V8 being put through its paces.
Glorious, just glorious. I've loved the GT40 since I first saw it in a Road and Track in 1964. What a great car - and still is!
I hope the entrance to Heavens will be like that. With background music from Vivaldi.
Handled that spin-out like a champ. Bravo sir :)
Best V8 soundtrack I have heard in a long time.
I still have the invoice for chassis #1029. My dad bought it in Feb of 66. I still remember sitting in it when I was 13
As ruff as that road is only one spinout is amazing

No, you don't. They LOOK great! They are HOT, cramped and you need a cool suit like this guy has to drive one. You better be a smaller guy too......did I mention cramped? Oh...and God forbid if you hit something in one, If you have ever seen one apart, or put one together....Yikes!! The door top opens at the MIDDLE of the roof....so, you stand up first, on the seat, then contort yourself over the shifter and fuel tank and climb out. Getting in is even more fun. Our shop restored #1062, a race car that we converted back to the original road car it was.....look it up, it was at Keels and Wheels 2019 ....you'll find it. Peace...
That is a tough road to hang on to!
Him driving: The people seeing a GT40 zooming towards them: 😱
This is a car that demands respect ... Pure adrenaline, Pure coordination with Driver and Machine. Pucker factor 10/10 on that spin. That sound is part of my blood, my body, my soul. ❤❤❤ Yes I'd like to see a one on one race with a v8 supercar ... 10 laps at Bathurst. Flat out. The GT40 would need to have some practice laps, we all know that Bathurst can make or break the Car/Driver. I would love to drive one, one day. It's on my bucket list.
What a noise it makes!
Thank you so much for keeping us alive during quarantine👍

It's that old American automotive hero, the Windsor. Roaring at 6000RPM here, or lazily rolling home in an F-150, it's well-suited. Limousines, Police Interceptors, station wagons, pony cars, SUV's... It's been everywhere. I love that it's not just some supercar motor; it's ya homeboy sitting in your driveway.
Awesome sounding !!!!

Either hwy 4 or hwy 1, both in California. Hwy 1 is just spectacular the entire length, and hwy 4 has 3 different sections that are awesome. 17 is pretty nice too. I've never spent much time in cars on these roads, mostly motorcycles. If I had to choose, probably a 63 split window Corvette. Not fast or super as far as handling, but cool.

Gearbox is hanging out the back, and there are rose-jointed rods connecting the gear lever, down the right-hand sill, past the engine & bellhousing, right out to the back of the car. You couldn't run those rods from a central lever straight down the back...there's a 289 or 427 side-oiler getting in the way...!
