@@ParkPros Also the rumor surrounding it’s lift motor being used on Goliath is not true. Now that I think about it. I think I know why Demon is closed. Staffing was one part, but they must have realized the rock work around the loops is in such bad shape, that removing them would lessen the chance of structural failure causing injury or damage. Look what happened to the rockwork on the California Demon

@@tigerrocks503chase8Goliath is not sharing anything with demon I am a mechanic there. Rock structure got removed because it started crumbling and they obviously don’t want it falling on a rider. Repairing it would mean rebuilding entire thing. Ride needs state to inspect after surrounding/ongoing construction as well.

Removing demon would be like removing whizzer. Part of what makes SFGAm stand out would be gone. With CGA’s closure imminent, they should preserve Demon here.

if they remove Demon, at least wait until 2026. Sending it off on its 50th anniversary would be the best idea in this situation

I first rode on what would be The Demon in 1976. At that time it was called the Turn of the Century. It had 3 hills where the loops would later be added. You were lifted out of your seat at the top of each. Then it had the revolutionary corkscrew. It was one of the first to turn riders upside down. It was one of the 3 marquee rides at the park at the time. The others were Willard's Whizzer and The Tidal Wave. Those are already gone. When the demon goes, all the original coasters that were there when the park opened will be gone. They were all state of the art when they opened. Now they'd be kiddie rides.

I went to Six Flags Great America last night, and I can confirm they were just doing some work on demon with the rocks. Demon was open when I went, and I went on the ride.

Demon is actually a really fun ride for its age and

I’m a wood coaster hobbyist but there’s some steel coasters that are special to me. Demon is one of them. This isn’t an outstanding coaster, but it’s fun, and fairly smooth for a very old Arrow coaster. California’s Great America Demon (same as the one on this video) is actually very smooth as I rode it 2 months ago. Demon in Illinois is the first steel coaster I ever took POV video on, in 1982 or 83. That’s why it’s special to me!

What some large companies don't understand is that removing certain things that people originally loved will cause them to go bankrupt later on down the road

Demon has a special place in my heart, as it was the first roller coaster I rode that went upside down, and helped me conquer my fear of big roller coasters. If it does go away, I'm gonna be really sad.

I’m a mechanic at the park for the coasters and revolution is being replaced by sky striker, dare devil dive got taken down, marti gras is going soon, and demon had its tunnel fully removed, however I’m not saying if ride is staying or going. Also buccaneer battle is also gonna go.

It was an easter egg/reference to the closure of Revolution and Mardi Gras Hangover.

The can’t remove the demon.every turn you feel like you are going to freaking die but it’s iconic.

I may hate the headaches but demon is a must do all times

There is no way there are removing Demon. Its iconic so much so that the park would know not want to remove it no matter the age. It also has really good theming and a good setting for all that to be removed. Its also like the best arrow looper so...

A lot of rides where Mardi Gras Hangover stood keep getting removed. Starting with Power Down, then the previous mardi gras ride that flipped you over, and now this one which I remembered as a harley quinn ride

Demon isn’t going anywhere. I’ve been a patron since the park opened by Marriott. The Rock work is a safety hazard. Half the lights in the tunnel don’t work and is all corroded.

I kinda liked demon, it was my first inverting coaster 😢

They shut it down to remove the rockwork cause it was degrading and became a hazard. As far as I know there aren't current plans to add new rockwofk

It always sux when a ride is removed, even if it's to bring a new one to its place

I’ve been told that they’re just working on the concrete structures as most of them are on a decrepit state and are in need of repair. That’s why the ride hasn’t been open recently

Demon is hands down one of the top 5 old steel coasters I’ve ever riden, Ngl I enjoyed more than raging bull😅

Vertical velocity was one of the best but it was broken like nearly everytime i went even before it was removed

That rock structure is falling apart that's it that's all same thing happened here CGA with our theming on the demon it's not going anywhere

They might be closing Demon, because too many people are getting stuck upside down, so their best course of action is to take it down to prevent it.

Demon was my first big coaster as a kid. I used to love it. I haven't been on it in a few years, though, because the last time I went on it, I just didn't feel safe. 😢

If they remove demon its probably getting shipped down to six flags america

Man for our end of 8 grade trip we went here and rode demon 10 times because the line was short but we helped our conquer his fear or roller coasters that go upside down and he was dragging us in 😢. Never want to see it go

Well, demon has opened back up, it’s my home park so me and my partner went up there on Saturday and it was in operation the whole day. However, the American Eagle was down the whole day which isn’t uncommon as the last time I came there was when I was in middle school which was in 2018, and it was down that day too. I know they plan to remove the American Eagle some day, but both rides I hope they can still stay or even get remodeled. Maybe an RMC edition of American Eagle, and with the Demon they could do the same thing that was done to the Lochness Monster rollercoaster hopefully.

They should give Demon a CSM retrack, new theming and new Vekoma trains with lap bars

if demon would be removed, what would people want for it to be replaced by? For me, if they also use the land of the go karts and the buccaneer battle, what if they could get a b&m dive or even another rmc like a raptor or if possible, maybe even the first rmc T. rex!?!

Oh yeah that would also be great!!! Six flags should really get a longer launch coaster since our only launches are Maxx force and v2 which are very short. I feel like the park working with into an to get a multi launch would be awesome

Rides that recently shut down -revolution -mardi gras hangover -dare devil dive (This next one is in the beginning of the queue of American eagle but I'm not sure when it closed and what the name of the ride was)

Wow Demon was my first roller coaster to go upside down on as a kid. I forget who made the Demon but there are very few of them left, I think 3 or 4 of them. One in Dollywood

That's sad how they are removing Mardigras Hangover, I rode it like a day after it opened and I thought it looked cool, especially at night because of the lights on it, it's kind of fun but also it doesn't really feel that fun, probably because of how big it is which makes it spin slower, but the entrance and the theme are cool and stuff, but I'm glad they are getting rid of the Revolution, it's boring and slow, it takes for ever for the ride to start and stop, the seats face inwards so it's not that fun and you can't really see anything, it doesn't go upside down, it fact it goes slow and slowly gets faster and higher but it only does like 2 or 3 swings at the highest fastest point before the ride ends, it feels like it's over right as it's actually getting good. The only cool thing about the Revolution is how it looks, like the name and the red white and blue and gold colors, but the new one will most likely look way better

I’m so sad about Revaluation😭😭 I loved it so much. I did ride it for the last time on Oct 29th. Never did ride Hangover, me and my brother has the opportunity, but we thought it’d be funny if neither of us ever rode it

The ride demon at Six Flags has not been removed because Sky Striker because it's in a different place and I don't know why that hangover ride there's a lot of Goofy Goose was knocked over I miss Levolution

In here, I thought the demon was very popular. I thought it was one of my favorite.

I went to great America 5 times this summer and all 5 times demon was not open. Probably has something to do with this

Devil is moving to NJ great adventure. Was there last week and say it was renaming it Jersey devil coaster or something more fitting

I went on sky striker today it looked fun but when I got on there was difficulty’s and we did not go as high as other waiting 2hrs for it was disappointing I will have to try again another time though

They aren't removing Demon; I will not stand for this slander.

We used to have a floorless that we specifically got rid of to make way for Goliath, but I’ve heard rumors in the past that we could’ve gotten a small dive coaster that would be placed somewhere around Buccaneer Battle. It wouldn’t be replacing Demon, however, and would probably take up the space of the GoCarts and/or the area near Revolution before we knew of High Striker

Demon removal would be understandable. The ride ̶i̶s̶n̶’̶t̶ ̶p̶o̶p̶u̶l̶a̶r̶ and its plot of land could easily be split. Making room for 2 new attractions. Edit. The ride has fans, but a restoration or removal seems inevitable.

Not the same as the dive coaster, but it IS the same as the SkyCoaster (the big arch thing over near Scream Machine) which used to be called "Fearless Freep's Daredevil Dive"
