Sisters Who Saved Younger Siblings From Danger
These sisters saved their younger siblings from danger. In 2016, a sister saved her baby brother from someone trying to kidnap him from a playground. In 2015, a young girl named Lexi received a well-deserved medal for saving the life of her baby brother and mother after a car accident. In 2021, a 13-year-old girl was a hero after shielding her little brother from a hail of bullets. Inside Edition Digital’s Andrea Swindall has more.

I truly do not understand that clip. Man in red is running from shooter, and bowls over sister and brother. The Shooter runs up and continues shooting at the man in red despite the kids nearby. The sister is *directly in the line of fire.* The brother stands up and tries to bolt away to the right, but the sister reaches out to grab him and tries to shield him, but inadvertently pulls him directly back into the line of fire, face first no less. Everyone praises the sister for....good intentions I guess?

The little girl climbing the embankment barefoot made me cry. Little super hero.
My sister rescued me from a rip current when I was 9, she was 11 but adrenaline took over her (she said) when she saw me struggling (I wasn’t the best swimmer at 9) and going further and further into the ocean, she went in and swam over to pull me out, she was successful and then adults noticed what was happening and came in to help us out (even though we were almost out by then lol). Definitely scariest thing I’ve gone through and if it hadn’t been for my sister, I wouldn’t be here. She risked her life for mine and it’s something I could never pay her back ❤.

My brother and I were caught on a rip current at about that age, maybe a bit younger. I probably could have made it back to shore cos at that point I could (barely) stand. But my younger brother definitely couldn't so I just held his hand in a death grip and we got rescued. But I swear I have ptsd from it because I love the ocean but since then I have a huge fear of a loved one getting swept out into the ocean.
@jsophiamm

@@thecaptainsnark I’m glad you were there for your brother! I feel the same way, my bf doesn’t swim but likes the ocean so whenever he’s in there, I’m right next to him holding him or just aware of what he’s doing, asking if he can touch the ground and stuff. I taught myself how to swim in the ocean (with my parents and whenever we could) due to that situation so I wouldn’t go through that, and the knowledge could help me save others. The fear is really intense.
Oh my gosh, the little girl who climbed the embankment to get help for her mom and brother! I was almost in tears at that one. Then the girl who shielded her brother from bullets. I hope that if anything like that ever happens to me, I am HALF AS BRAVE as those children.

"The man accused of gunning down a 24-year-old last week and firing bullets that narrowly missed two children walking down a Bronx sidewalk has been arrested, police said Friday. NBC New York’s Marc Santia reports. The gunman accused of shooting a 24-year-old man and firing a "hail of bullets" that narrowly missed two children walking down a Bronx sidewalk was sentenced to 15 years in prison, the Bronx district attorney announced Thursday. Michael Lopez, 28, pleaded guilty in January, 2022, to attempted murder for opening fire on the sidewalk of Sheridan Avenue in Claremont in the afternoon of June 17. According to the police investigation, Lopez got off a scooter and chased the shooting target up the block, firing at least 12 times". I'm glad that heathen is arrested, let him rot in jail.

I can't even imagine being 13 and being put in the position where I have to shield my sibling with my body. That little girl is beyond brave! She didn't even think twice! And that piece of garbage who sat there and fired his gun towards little children, I don't even have words for what a heartless monster that is. Shooting somebody is bad enough, doing it where you're willing to murder little kids at the same time is just something completely uncomprehensible.
Kids that have more comman sense and true grit than many Adults. How brave and intelligent.
As someone with little brothers I cried watching her protect her brothers knowing I would do the same thing and possibly lose my life for my boys
So many brave children! Next generation has some promise 👏🏻
I got an award for helping my siser years ago. We took horse riding lessons and being older I was helping out with the younger ones in my sisters class. I led my sisters horse around the arena when a garden gnome spooked the horse (jumpy animals easily spooked) and it started to take off trying to buck my sister off. It was a big horse and she was little but all I could think was 'hang on' and managed to drag the horse to a stop by letting it run circles around me holding onto the leading rope. She didn't even fall, just shaken up. We both love horses and riding and I'm glad I was there when it happened. I still have that rosette ❤️
A sisters love is a powerful thing ❤️
I'm impressed by the quick thinking of the girl who shielded her brother, It looked like everything happened so fast but she realised the danger and protected her brother. We never know how we would react in a situation like that, but i honestly think i mind would not understand what was happening fast enough to have a full protective reaction, and I'm 30, she is a kid with a sharp reaction time, good sister ❤
this makes me so proud to be a big sister. i’ve saved my 2 little siblings lives from drowning before, and this makes me grateful i did it in time.
To experience any of these things at such a young age would suck, but it would suck even more to be an only child in any of these circumstances!!
The big brother following behind with the stroller was a statement. They were going to get their baby brother back, period. Kiddos weren't messing around.
Prayers to Lexi, OUR HERO!❤

The shielding one definitely brought me to tears but I think the car accident one got me the most, like I was baffled that a 4 year old was able to climb up that big of a hill in just bare feet. If it wasn’t for her, I don’t think things would have been the same. Kudos to these brave sisters!

Parents of young children should see the video of the girl tipping over with the floaties. Some of these things you use to keep your kids safe in the water can be exactly what kills them. Always monitor young children in the water and make sure any floatation devices can't flip or slip down.

the little brother with the stroller was absolutely astonishing
When I was 5 and my brother was 2, he went to run out of the front door to my dad. From behind him, I saw him heading right for a big water moccasin, so I snatched him back into the house so hard my dad yelled at me. I just yelled, "SNAKE!" Lol Not too big of a deal, but I'm still proud that I saved my brother. 🥰
Good job to all of those sisters who saved and protected their own family and their brother and sisters
Though not on the same scale as these videos, I'll never forget being on a ride with my sister, one that bounces up and down whilst spinning. I wasn't secured in properly and the belt unbuckled not long after the ride started. I was young & could have easily been thrown from my seat, which I thought was going to happen each time it jerked upwards. Bless my sister, she's 7 years older than me but not the strongest, yet she held me down for the duration of the ride. At the time, it was the most terrifying experience of my life. As an adult, I now fully appreciate how dangerous it was & how fortunate I am to have had my sister there to protect me. I love my sister, older siblings show affection in the smallest gestures, so these videos evidence the infinity of sibling love 🧡
I remember being in a pool with my grandfather and he was with me in the deep end . This little girl was without floaties and jumped into there. Luckily the dad saved the girl
