I think the simplicity of the song and the message lends itself to the beauty of her voice instead of the power of the choir. Their ooohs and hummms were perfect and not overshadowing.

In Norway, there are two things you don't joke about. And there are: 1. Sissel, 2. The royal family 🤣

Thank you for sharing this reaction to Sissel. You should really watch the video to the very end. This performance was during the middle of the concert and ovations are rare at this stage of a performance, generally saved to the end of concert. However, the audience gave her an extended ovation. She was not expecting this and became emotional. She is such a humble performer. Please investigate her further. View the Japanese concert that the Royal Crown Prince was present. The song “Wait Awhile” is another beautiful performance. Oh there are sooo many. In Norway she is the queen of Christmas “Jule Music”. You will find these performances on KZread and her official website. Enjoy this very special artist. Many years, genres and languages. Oh yes, she was the voice of Titanic through out the entire score. You will be glad you did. Share our precious Sissel. The world needs to hear her sing. Sissel is a worldtopclass crossover soprano that cound easily be well know as straisand and dion but did not like to become a star. She is a gift to listen

Hehe. Everyone is waiting for the choir to KICK IN. But nope. Just the gentle backing is what you get. And as far as I'm concerned, this performance didn't need an additional layer. Although I'm not a christian person, I really like this song, at the very least when Sissel is performing it. She is another Norwegian, like me, but I'm still unbiased I think when I say that she's got one of the most beautiful voices in the world. Note that I didn't say THE most beautiful voice in the world, like when I say that I think that Angelina is THE best singer in the world (not vocalist). As a vocalist, she is surpassed by Sissel and many others, the way I perceive it and define the word vocalist. OH.. this is a Sissel reaction... Pardon the digression 😁 Love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥

This is the great "less is more" performance. Everything is restrained. Of course the forces are here to blow the lid off but that's not what the song is about.
