The best thing about this is the applause at the end. Then you realize, this is a live performance. Amazing!

Some people are entrusted with rare talents and not all of them use them the way they should,but Sissel is not one of those people.This is indeed a rare and most beautiful voice and a privilege to listen to.

My favorite of all the songs sung. The melody, the high lilting notes, everything about it even though I don’t understand a word being sung.

How have I lived so long and not heard this beautiful tune before. And then this voice that scales the heights and then the heavens too. One of life's great experiences.

All the red roses of the world are not enough to praise this beautiful rendition. Kalle's violin was superb too.

A beautiful singer and a beautiful song, she is to me PERFECT.

I don't understand a single word of the language but that is just fine...Sissel's exquisite voice is the most beautiful sound I have ever heard.

Sometimes on a a rare occasion the art or performance transcends the original langauge. I Do not speak any of scandnavian languages, but the singing and the violin playing this tune still can move me to tears.

If you wish to be an angel.........all you must do is act as if you are one. God's gift.

The tune came to Kalle's brother Per-Erik in 1998, when he was skiing over the wetland, a nature reservate - so you cannot say it's an old tune. Py Bäckman wrote the text that is about the snow, the sky, the stars, the living, the dead - but not about xmas. It was recorded first time 1999 by Ann-Sofie von Otter, a version that is better than this one. We fiddlers use to play it now and then. The photo illustrating this tune above is probably not from Sweden. Our mountains look different.

I love Sissels voice while Ann-Sofies leave me indifferent and I think Kalle Moreus plays a lot more expressiv in this recording.

Sissel sang this performance at the end of a concert and no doubt her voice was tired but she gave it her best, IMO. Any great voice can go to a studio and work on a single song and end up with the consummate capture.
