I was at Celtic park for I think the second time in August 1977. My dad, sister and I got there very early and we saw the team arrive. Jock shook our hands . He simply said hello son. I was 9 years old. Dad died in the early hours of the next morning.

Jock’s death had a devastating effect on Sir Alex, who was his assistant as Scotland’s manager during the qualifying games for the 1986 World Cup.

The greatest celtic manager in my lifetime. No question about that. Never asked a player to do something he was not capable of. Always kept it simple. Lisbon was the pinnacle of his many achievements but his complete trophy haul is up there with the best of them. Big Jock manager of Celtic ❤❤❤
