Hey Rory, here's another song by Steve Earle, if interested. "Steve Earle - Guitar Town (Official Music Video)" (by the channel: Steve Earle) --This song was written and recorded by Steve Earle and was released in 1986 and was the title track from his album of the same name.
*Rory.* Thanks 😊 Siouxsie is a goth godmother. Super influential. This song is about the destruction of Pompeii by volcano (lava imagery in the video). Glad you like it 👍

I know you like PJ Harvey -- well Siouxsie was a huge influence on Polly. In an interview she said "it’s hard to beat Siouxsie Sioux, in terms of live performance. She is so exciting to watch, so full of energy and human raw quality." I once saw Siouxsie in the 1990s and she has a vendetta against bouncers and security guards. At her concerts most of the front row would be young women and there was this security guard pushing them around and being a prick. Siouxsie noticed what was going on and while singing and gyrating her hips she leaned down grabbed the security guard by the neck and shook him. And then he ran off and when the song finished she said something like "oh go fuck off and beat your chest in a corner you wanker!" hahahahahaaha!
I never got into Siouxsie Sioux, but I always really liked her song The Last Beat of my Heart. I first heard the DeVotchKa cover of it. Both very beautiful songs.
