I honestly do not believe that Siouxsie ( and the Banshees) has been given the respect and status she deserves as truly being one of the UKs most important and creative musical artists, and the band as being one of the best British bands ever. The problem could be in that she/they are always identified as a "Punk" or "Goth" band. The length of career, hit singles and quality Albums speak for themselves, one of the best Brit Rock Bands ever. Leagues ahead of many of the "Brit Pop" bands of the 90s that are now regarded as National Treasures. Siouxsie was and still is authentically unique in the truest sense of the word.

It's true that the Banshees and especially Siouxsie herself deserve much more credit and respect, but to be fair, I don't think any of them care about the whole "legacy" or "status" shit. They just did what they wanted to do and thought was right at the time like the rest of us want to do, and that's all that ever drove the band, let alone Siouxsie herself with the Creatures and her solo career.

Thanks for setting the record straight. I always loved their music, because it was both great & different than the Mainstream stuff...

I met her years ago, around the first lalapalooza. It was an all night diner. I stopped at her table just to pay my respects, they had just played a few hours earlier. She was amazing! Asked me to sit with her table. I got to visit with her and some of the guys for a few hours. She told stories of a young Robert Smith, etc. She reminded me of a mama bear, if she loves you, God help the soul who hurts you. She was warm, inviting and lovely. I've met many musicians in my work, she's one of the warmest. Also, I agree with the above comment. That dude is a solid asshole. I did meet him once. Once was too much.

Siouxsie Sioux relaunched her official website recently so maybe, just maybe that's a sign she's got something planned. 2015's "Love Crime" turned out exceptionally good & I can't help but feel Siouxsie was pleased with the end result. Perhaps it inspired her to start work on new material & soon she'll surprise us all with a new album. Let's hope so. :)

At 2:37 Siouxsie says "He isn't living any more is he?" referring to Bill Grundy. Of course her question was ignored as she was being talked over. Actually he had passed away almost 15 years prior to this interview. Not sure if the hosts knew this but they certainly should have. Siouxsie will be performing live again this year (2023) & hopefully all goes well as we certainly need her back. Can't help but think that an album of all new material is also on the horizon.

I wouldn't really hold it against the interviewers if they didn't know when Bill Grundy died. That interview with the Pistols and Siouxsie made him irrelevant almost immediately. The defining moment of the man's life was him getting berated by Steve Jones for making unwanted sexual advances towards Siouxsie Sioux.

In either case I'm not really holding it against either of them. I love the part in the full Grundy interview where he says "good heavens you frighten me to death" after Johnny says the "rude" word.

It was supposed to shock people. Guess it still works. It's actually a positive Hindu symbol but you see what you see

She isn't. She's apologized for it and stated it was just for shock value.

Oh Buddy. She used to wear one herself in the late 70's. It wasn't to advocate Nazism, but rather to anger older generations who would shit their pants at the sight of a swastika on the arm of a 19-year old girl with a black star over her eye. Shock was the entire point of punk fashion along with self-expression. It's like how USSR Sports jerseys were popular in the 90s - they were cheap, and most had a big hammer and sickle to piss off Reaganite hangovers from the 80s, and of course curmudgeonly old people.
