Siouxsie and the Banshees - Suburban Relapse - Live in 1979. Not the best quality but such a good song - and this is a great version with the classic line up.

Any live stuff with McKay and Morris is brilliant to watch

Ah! That did me good to hear. Was very lucky to see them twice in 1978. Original line-up was sadly underrated. Went off them after that.

Thanks for the comments everyone. This is one of my favourite Banshees tracks as well and as you say SkeeterNYC a refreshing change from the usual Siouxsie uploads - great as they may be.

To be honest I did not put these videos up to start a slanging match - it puts me off uploading more, of which I have many rare and in some cases hardly ever seen videos. Who cares if you met Siouxsie and Budgie - I met the whole band repeatedly in the 70s and 80s but see no reason to use it as an "Im better and a bigger fan than you" argument. I feel like pulling the videos but I wont as that would be unfair to those who know how to act rationally.

Yeah! Another vid posting that I've never seen. So much cooler that having the 'Arabian Knights' or 'Cities In Dust', etc. vids on here 50 times. This is a great one. Thanks.

So glad someone's uploaded this. Of all the classic SATB songs it was important to have an original live performance of, this was the one. Such a great song and the recording quality's not that bad at all.

This is from "Follies", a show on Belgian french TV. They aired live shows from Wire, The Jam, Buzzcocks, The Ruts, XTC,...and I think they erased all the original tapes! Thanks for the upload!

Thanks for posting - the 'classic' lineup with Kenny Morris & John McKay, those two had a great dark moodiness about them, then of course Robert Smith + Budgie had to step in but still good - I'm sure you were there - great gigs.

That dark moodiness was very attractive to me.

The quality of the video is not important. This song is one of my favourites, sends a shiver down my spine. Just awesome!!!

Brilliant stuff! McKay's guitar sound was a blueprint for so many bands (pale imitations) that followed. Disappointed that he didn't sprout an extra set of arms (Shiva-like) to simultaneously play the sax line ;-) ) Ta lots for posting this "Scream" classic.

It may be bad quality but that doesn't matter. This is the only video I've seen of them do this live. Thanks :)

thanks amigo for immortalizing an unseen by me phase of the band..reminding us who were around (in USA) in that era (& ESPECIALLY to those that weren't) that power+punk attitude didnt begin/end with just say The Pistols (history simplifies but doesnt recall everyone properly). This prev. unheard GREAT track (&performance) alone is evidence of great band even if they didnt do TONS of other great stuff. Just monster & masterly wall of guitar noise (with touches of angular Gang of Four-y type twang)

This shows how important John Mcay was. I think he was the best guitarist they had and I really miss his inimitable sound 🙂
