"blue-ue will calm my hys-ter-ia". Join Hands is a neglected record. Icon is a masterpiece.

Oh man, that guitar intro! To me it's as much a timeless intro as "Smoke on the Water".

I love McGeoch, but John McKay is also an amazing guitarist. I think leaving the Banshees must be the worst mistake of his life.

A "very" earlier and punkier version of such a beautiful song.

Totally agree. McGeoch was definitely a more versatile guitarist with a strong grasp of melodic structure, but I much prefer McKay's work with the Banshees because he had a very original sound. I don't think the Banshees were ever quite as good again, partly because of their increasingly "kitchen sink" approach to arrangements.

Thanks again, Mr Raffles! My favourite track from Join Hands... I used to listen to the four songs, Regal Zone, Placebo Effect, Icon and Premature Burial - over & over again in my youth. I'm still scarred! Cheers!

my 1st ever gig was the Banshees age 13 in 1978 about a month before the debut album & the 2nd time I saw them was on the Join Hands tour with the Cure as support brilliant Band / times.

Nice one. Everytime at this time of the year i feel compelled to listen to join hands. Morris playes like a clockwork and i always ask myself how Mc. Kay got those sounds out of his guitar.

I dont understand whats keeping Siouxsie from a triumphant return to Coachella & reclaiming her throne as Queen of Alternative Rock??? Grace Jones, Deb Harry, Exene, & even Clare Grogan still rockin' it .........

awesome upload. Morris and McKay. Though I always understood the hate between them and Susie & Steve, I've always seriously dug Join Hands. Maybe the best of Banshees albums. Certainly the A-side was the zenith.

John McKay was a brilliant guitarist for the Banshees, although I have to say McGeoch (and Budgie) brought a diversity and colour that weren't there before.
