Single Women retires in San Miguel ,Queretaro, Guanajuato:: social security
San Miguel de Allende,Queretaro,Guanajuato:
San Miguel de Allende has been a retirement favorite for foreigners as far back as the late 1960s. San Miguel first became popular with artists and bohemians in the 1940s and 50s, after the establishment of the Instituto Allende that gave classes in the fine arts. The artists began settling in, and now the town is full of high energy foreigners that are entranced by the Mexican native sense of style and colors. Throughout the years, the foreigners came to include more and more retirees and other eccentrics that found their feet stuck to the sidewalks and plazas-they couldn’t leave.

Thank you for another great interview. I would enjoy more details on the process of living in Mexico full time or half time. What do they wish they had known prior to moving there? What would they do different? Biggest tip for a first timer? Cost saving tip? Biggest mistake? How have people handled bringing their pets? Pets in rentals, over the boarder, pet friendly neighborhoods?

I was getting so excited when I was researching the possibility of moving to Puerto Vallarta, however when I found out that I don't meet the income requirements, I became very sad😥 I am planning on retiring in about 3 years or less and my social security is 1600 a month ,so now I won't be able too😪

Mexico has made a drastic change in policy a lot of it is based on the minimum wage here and there's a formula and just recently they have increased the minimum wage so that affects the formula to get residency visa. I'm hoping that within the next few years they will change that policy and lower that requirement so don't lose hope. I don't know if you have the resources but if you have $45,000 in assets let's say in a investment account, 401(k), retirement Ira you can still get a visa.

Hi, Jerry. When you go from town to town, could you say something about how to get there? Something about the buses, roads, etc? About how long it takes you to get from Ajijic to Sayulito, or to San Miguel, etc.? That would be so great. Thanks!

Larry if you're only coming for six months I would just get the six month visa either from a Mexican consulate office or when you enter Mexico. You'll need your passport and if you're driving you will need your car registration, Proof of Mexico insurance on your car, a deposit to bring your car in but that deposit will be returned back to you. You Will need a credit card to put the deposit on. See video below driving in Mexico. When you're down here for your six months you can get a lot of information about Mexico that is an excellent way for KZread decide if you like Mexico are not. In the next few weeks approximately 4 to 6 weeks we will have a video on Mexican Visas. Hi Jerry and Lori ♡ I am a Canadian single mom hoping to move down to Mexico, starting this December, with an exploratory trip (on a regular 6 month travel visa) with my 4 year old, to check out the various colors and flavours of Mexico! I am attracted there because of the beauty, social structure, history and culture combined with affordability, but will still need to work to keep emergency and savings funds growing. Can I do remote work online, if I am being paid from another country into a Canadian bank? Or is it legal to house sit- I heard a lady that did some work in exchange for an apartment got in trouble for not having a work visa, so I don't want to repeat that, but just housesitting and not paying rent? Is that considered work or gainful employment? PS. I LOVE your videos and will share them widely once I announce my move on social media. Many blessings! You are super helpful and I hope to meet you both, as Ajijjic is #1 on my list to check out!

I am like her an adventurous woman always have been unfortunately my income isn't quite enough to be able to live there otherwise I'd be there got physical limitations so that messed with my income it way too early of an age I was all excited when I first started watching your videos the weather would be so kind to my very progressed inflammatory disease I know it would help it tremendously that's just one thing but then when I saw if you don't make I'm about 250 shy of what I need I would have to do the thing where you have to leave for 6 weeks and then reapply for another 6-month Visa wouldn't work in my world unfortunately not much for armchair travel never have been but really enjoy your videos anyway thanks so much for sharing. Have I been able to continue working longer than the young age of 46 I definitely would be retiring right there in the area you live!! love it and lots of pools to swim in for my Physiotherapy x 3 a week darn the bad luck LOL thanks again

Lori, I was so shocked at you horrific life story video about the killing fields. War is man's wicked desperation. Hard to believe that killing could ever be right and now we use it to help our U.S. laborer find a job and keep corporations raking in the dough. Anyway, Lori what a brave and resourceful Mother you were. Blessings for you and Jerry as you keep us up on great places to live cheap.
