Your voice is a muscle and if you're serious about wanting to learn to sing well then you need to strengthen that muscle. I can speak from experience, as someone who couldn't belt, twang, sing more than an octave and a bit and had massive pitching issues to someone who has been singing professionally for the last 10 years. I did at least 15 minutes exercising a day as well as singing through lots of material and within six months my voice made an incredible change. You can too.

Hi Lady Sasha, thank you for your message. Unfortunately, what your describing is a technique that involves constriction. This is not something I feel comfortable teaching as if it is done incorrectly it can lead to vocal damage. The best thing for you to do is speak to a local singing teacher and have some tuition face to face.

ANNA, Sei molto brava, Un consiglio se posso, fare gli esercizi un po più lentamente, per sentire meglio le varie scale. ANNA, You're very good, A tip if I can, do the exercises a little more slowly, to hear the various scales better.
Will you do warm ups for an operatic voice? Thank you!
Hi, i m new to singing and can not figure out from where to start....can u pls guide
hi Anna, I'm a big fan of your 7 day singing program (I've only been practicing the exercises on the vids for a week now but I've seen improvement in my singing) and I wanted to ask you something. I'm a soprano and I can hit up to high E (high F on a good day), but I can't seem to achieve a full sound whenever I try to belt without straining. Is this because my voice is too light for belting? Will doing the exercises in this video help?
How do you do the resonance at the end of the note?
thank you honey 😊
That was really useful, thank you for posting! I just discovered your channel and am going to check the rest of your vids. Just one question, should male singers do these exercises one octave lower than you?
@VerbaVocal

Start low in your voice and it will all fall in to place. Or better still just listen to the piano for your key :)

I've been working with this video (and others) for some weeks and it has helped me a lot. Actually it has put me on another level in a short period of time. Sometimes I sound now like a real singer. At least I think I could fake a singer to people who don't know much about singing:) Thank you very much for posting this stuff!!!
Hi mam can you please teach js how to sing stone cold by demi lavato? Thank u
Tell us more please.
please can i get the notes you are playing for practice for belting
Your accent reminds me of jade thirwals 😍😍😍
I have way to much fun producing the baby-sound :D My poor flat mates
just to clarify because i want to do it properly: do i have to flex/tighten my abs EVERY TIME when i belt high? is it a good thing that my abs feel a bit tired after this exercise?
@VerbaVocal
7 жыл бұрын
Yes you should engage the muscles to support a belt. So if they feel tired after singing then that is a good sign. Just try to avoid getting too tense.
Very constructive video.
Very helpful exercises but I was wondering... I am a baritenor my first head voice note is C4 and I am only able to full belt C4 and D4. First how many notes will I ever be able to full belt and how much time will it take. Id be happy if you responded. Thanks.

It is impossible to put a time on development as every voice is different. Just keep working on it.
@TheAshumms

When I started singing I could only belt a D4 and had a wimpy falsetto sound for everything above that. It's definitely possible to learn I now can belt as high as C#5

When I belt high, My voice gets crusty around C, and it's super frustrating. I don't feel like I'm straining, and I'm used to belting way higher than that with no problem. Did I permanently damage my vocal chords? Help????
Wondering why vibrato is "naughty" on the "hey" "hey" exercise.
For a second I thought you were wearing Van Halen stripes on that dress, lol.
👍
I do not quite understand where I am breathing in and out.
I have a Question, It's true that when for example we do Belting exercises, We have problems with vibrato, When We Do Riffs, And Vibrato Exercises, We Have Problems with Belting and Things like that? If you Do just A Type of exercise sometime, Do you Lose flexibility in the other areas?
@VerbaVocal
7 жыл бұрын
+Luis Antonio Yes, that does happen. When practicing one part of the voice it can be hard to access other parts. But you practice enough you'll start to be able to mix different voice qualities together - but it will take time!

i cannot do the waw-waw. can someone please help me?
Just a question:if my throat hurt means that I could never be a good Singer(mine is not, but I know someone who does)
@VerbaVocal
7 жыл бұрын
No it doesn't mean you will never be a good singer. If the throat hurts when singing it means your not doing it properly. The best thing would be to see a vocal teacher face to face to access the problem. :)
Can You explain me please which is the difference between belting and screaming.A lot of people tell me that i'm screaming when I sing.
@VerbaVocal

+Anna Arendelle Belting is very similar to yelling, from a technical standpoint. But with belting you just control the pitch accurately.

+M Daniels It can be hard to apply the things you learn in practice into real songs. Try thinking about the song you want to sing while doing this video, or even have it playing in the background - then jump between the practice and the singing.

Funny thing i can belt a B5 but cannot belt a d5 without strain.
@VerbaVocal
6 жыл бұрын
+CuteStardoll Doll In voice terms there's quite a big gap between B and D, so it's not so surprising. Keep working on your belt a little at a time, don't try to go too high too soon. In time you'll find your range increasing. Remember with belt to keep your throat open (retracted), the muscles of the neck engaged (anchoring) but not too tense, and try hitting the notes on a "Yay" sound. See if it helps!
Should you be releasing the air in your tummy slowly as you belt? I need to practise this so much! Don't know how to use the diaphragm at all. :(
@VerbaVocal
7 жыл бұрын
For belting we take high breaths (expanding the chest), but yes when singing you should be releasing the air and if you have expanded the tummy then release that.
