To preface this, I'm not a vocal technician or anything like that, and this is my opinion. The way he's singing that high note sounds VERY unhealthy to me. It's hard for me to listen to because I can imagine the strain he's putting on his vocal folds. There are a couple of healthy ways he could be adding that distortion and it doesn't sound like either of them. Also, the fundamental kinda drops out and is hard to hear in parts of that phrase; the unevenness might be part of why it sounds so unhealthy to me. He's straining his voice to the max there. Maybe for most it's a cool sound, but I personally can't get past the feeling that he's destroying his voice by singing it that way.
@souhardyaroy9983
Жыл бұрын
@@JGMeador444 That's true and you can also notice in his recent performances that it has taken toll on his voice. I was too so much, it's a shame that her version wasn't included. I still think that she is able to sing it with a balanced mixed voice though and not chesty in the way that it would be chest-dominant. It's just because she has stellar technique along with a very high voice that gives her more tone and power in the note as her voice doesn't thin out as much there as most of the other singers in the clip.

It's because he uses a bit of false fold in his falsetto notes. False fold is pretty common in metal and hard rock but not as common and pop which most of these singers are.
