Huge thanks to this video. I've successfully replaced the gears. However, now I'm facing a problem... The setting of the switch for popping the bobbin is off... No matter how I switch it, the bobbin would not get filled... It will be really nice to have another video showing how to put the gears back and how to set up the switch, the timing and so on.

Dear Sir, Would this be involved with the Flexi Stitch not performing correctly in a 758? The top end FEED follower is seemingly fine when I watch it side by side with a working twin machine. That behaves right, but for whatever reason the patterns double back on themselves or compress, not enough Reverse and too much Forward. There is a 'clunk' on the lower bobbin side as she runs the Flexi Cam, Sound familiar? If this is what is going on I can do the job but thought I'd ask before getting into it as the machine is otherwise in mint condition and runs a perfect Zig Zag, just not much the Flexi patterns. Thanks, Alexander in Gloucester Ma.

The flexi patterns have a balance adjustment on the top of the machine next to the cam opening. Its a forward/ backward adjustment.

The hole that the drive pin fits into on the bottom of the gear may not be drilled deep enough to allow the long pin that drives the bobbin to move up enough to engage the bobbin and drive it. Drill the hole in the gear deeper until the drive pin moves up and there is full engagement of the long drive pin in the bobbin.

Do you need to set all the set screws loose?...my vertical gear broke in half and I tried to set the nut loose to get down to the issue that my bobbin overall was having...but I believe I broke a metal part that connects to the bobbin winder driver. I want to order the parts but want clarification of what I would need to fix it. Question on the left handed thread lifting nut...do you loosen it by turning it to the right...versus the left...(lefty loosy righty tighty is not applied here???) If so, then maybe thats why i broke mine...help!

You have to make a nail punch and grind it down to fit that pin hole. Punch it from front to back with a light hammer and then pull it out the back with a pair of vice grips. Remove the shaft and grind a flat spot on it to accommodate the new gear and set screw. Hope this helps!

So I was working on cleaning, inspecting and oiling a Singer T&S II Model 771 that I got and am rehabbing. Upon accessing the bottom feed and bobbin drive area, I found two halves of a thin washer. I can't for the life of me figure out where it previously existed. I don't see it in these videos and haven't found references in online repair manuals and can't seem to find an exploded parts list anywhere. Do you have any suggestions? I am assuming it served some purpose at some point.

+Tipp Harris OK a little late responding, however the 1036 machine has a c-clip on the long horizontal shaft (you have to take it off) then slide the shaft out to the right. Put your new gear on, slide shaft all the way back in, the left side has a flat spot for the horz. hook gear set screw to tighten to. The clicking sound is the shaft sticking on the c-clip.

Well this would be helpful IF you actually showed how to loosen or remove the various set screws. I guess you had already gone in and loosened them up for the video, and didn't stop a second and explain how to get those off. If I can't remove them, the whole project is impossible. Also if you slowed down and made sure it was in focus as you removed those set screws, that would help.

Only comment to add is that the nipple you speak of on the large feed gear...that is just there...there are actually lines scribed in the eccentric and feed carrier. When those align the feed timing is proper...but, 1st you have to ensure the needle to hook timing is in place and set, then you set the feed timing with those two marks. Hope it helps some - Terry www.tandtrepair.com

Thank goodness there is another video out there from singer online that tell you to bend over a bracket and to cut off a little piece of the machine that is not needed to get that longer saft out. Don't even watch this one
