idk i'd be really uncomfortable. Instead of putting a camera in their face, I think it'd be more considerate to ask them first, then film them.

There's no music to prompt you and you can't fudge the lyrics and keep it moving when it's just you acapella. This wasn't a comment about this woman specifically, it was more about these videos as a whole.

This is true, however, its kind of hard to remember a song when caught off guard!

Ahhhhmazing how many people as adults are so antisocial, display clear signs of defensiveness and fear of making fools of themselves. The balls to the wall, lets try it and have fun with no holds barred quality that comes naturally to children clearly at some point disappates. This has me seriously reflecting and promising myself to catch myself if I fall into this and force myself to push myself beyond it. Life is too short to limiting myself and shutting down.

I don't know what issue does people have with singing if I get a chance to free vocal coaching I would be delighted I love to sing I just can't afford any professional vocal training 😭

I sing all day every day to myself at home for no reason at all and I would run if I saw her coming with a mic and camera too. Lol 😂

You're personality is infectious, I love it. I'm from the UK too and it's amazing to see how confident people are from the states compared to the UK. We do not like being stopped by anyone or talking to people we dont know.

This could even be a TV format. I'd watch it everytime. But like this is even better. ☺ Thanks Tara. 👍 You're doing great. And those little clips in between 😂 😂 😂

Unfortunately, the opportunity to get people to do more than what she is asking would be a miracle....after all it takes a pushy person just to convince these people to do this, let alone go sit down somewhere. Giving more instruction would send them running.

Yes, absolutely, sometime something as small as trying to sing publically works wonders in other avenues of self confidence!

In my car I sing really loud, but outside I will also dim my sound from shyness. Thank you Clair for providing the opportunity for me to learn something new, and Tara for teaching it. How do you find the songs that "fit" your vocals? For example, I think I sound better singing Elton John's songs and Neil diamond. But that's just a guess. Is there a trick?

Rookie Pilot You can sing any song if you just adjust the key. If it is a female song, you bring it down a couple of notes or octaves until it’s comfortable for your voice. Usually I take the music sheet, identify the notes on it and sing them in the octaves I’m comfortable with. I add to the music sheet the following notes: Dynamics: Pianissimo, Piano, Mezzoforte, Forte, Fortissimo Resonance: Fry, Chest, Mix, Falsetto, Head, Whistle Quality: Breathy, Growl, Straight Tone, Vibrato, Belt, Legato, so on and so forth... And I record myself during the training so I can hear myself and correct the stuff I need to smooth out. Like a riff, run, intonation, pronunciation and stuff like that. I use the piano on the Garage Band App for iPad for pitch reference, insTuner for the same purpose. And VocalPitchMonitor so I can SEE the consistency. Tip: don’t sing in the car, bathroom or empty room. Because inside these places the sound is ISOLATED and reverbs right back at you, so you have the impression that you have all that resonance inside you, when the reality you don’t yet.

She was such a good sport! Tara improving technique and lifting confidence and spirits!

That feeling you get when you hear a singer sing an amazing note! It’s awesome Tara just go to some random people and asked you he participate in her vocal teaching! I’ve been going to a vocal coach for about a month and I hear and feel I improved my singing! I’m no John Legend though but it’s fun to find pitch from songs I like and use vowels modification and breath control and warm ups and practice!
