Simvertex H-pattern Lubrication Tutorial!

Ойындар

DO NOT USE WD-40 FOR ANYTHING ON THIS SHIFTER! WD-40 is not a lubricant, it damages things, especially plastics and rubbers.
I have tried multiple types of grease and multiple types of oils and this combination feels the best to my hand. Hope it helps you out!

    It's so simple but it's good that they let the USB cable disconnect directly from the unit, that makes it a lot easier to pull off your rig for someone that has zip tied cables on to clean it up.

    Yes, the connection is super solid and I love the quality. Wish it was a bit longer but you can always get an extension.

    Do you still use this lubrication method? Just checking in to see how you do it before my V2 comes in.

    Yes indeed! Still works great. I'm actually testing long term no maintenance currently to see how effective this lubrication can be. I'm going on months with no maintenance and it's great!

    You would have to take it apart to be sure. The mechanisms have been refined internally.

    @@DouglasThompson Yes I do maintenance a few times a year, a bit more often on the pedals do to the heavy use. I have grease that look similar to yours, but different name and a bit more of a light brown color. I also use White lithium sprey greas for my pedals to get to all joints that otherwise start squeaking.

    Doug!! I just got mine and I'm about to get it lubed lol - final check though, do I need to worry about Red n Tackky containing lithium? The simvertex website/page instructions thing says not to use lithium based oil. "Other types of engine oil or lithium-based butter are not allowed to use" Thanks bro! I'm so excited to use this thing.

    It should be absolutely fine for the metal to metal contact areas. Don't get it on any rubber, plastic or electronic parts if you are worried. You can also probably even run the unit dry but I still recommend grease for metal on metal parts.

    @@DouglasThompson nooo I don't think I will run it dry lol it's been 2 years since this video, if you had any issues with that grease it would have appeared by now no? I got mine and I'm still just trying to find the best spot to mount it

    How’s the durability? How long have you owned it and how often r u using it?

  • @DouglasThompson

    @DouglasThompson

    3 жыл бұрын

    Durability has been great! I use it almost every day for hours at a time. Couple things to mention though are use blue loctite on the shaft that connects to the ball joint and if you have any binding issues you can make reliefs in the "gates". I will make a short video on how to do that in the near future. But it has been great after the small modification.

    Great! I had to smooth some things and and break the parts into eafhother but after that is is reliable and solid so far. Id say only buy this if you are mechanically inclined at this point now. I cant get ahold of anybody at simvertex and lets say you ran into an issue, if you cant get ahold of anyone at simvertex, you are on your own. Id say avoid simvertrx products until you can get ahold of customer service or if you are good at fixing your own things. All this being said, i love my unit but, like fanatec, you are only as good as your customer service as a company and if there is none...your company is garbage.
