    Have this! Absolutely love it! Best and most realistic shifter by far. Built like a tank, and has very nice software options. It’s a shame it’s not more known in the sim racing community, but hopefully it will be “discovered” soon. :)

    I believe the pro-sim h-patterns is probably the best when it comes to “feel”. But that does not have active gates (though it’s been announced it’s coming for like 5 years already. Looking more and more like vaporware…), so it still does not beat the BASH Pro as a total package I think.

    A dogbox is faster and generally easier to not use the clutch (or barely press it) on upshifts (way more difficult on downshifts and often not recommended on downshifts) than a roadcar but it can still be difficult on upshifts depending on car, revs, clutch, etc. A road-car transmission can be upshifted without the clutch too. They both need proper technique and timing.

    Really love your work and seeing things I might know about but need an in depth review on or things I otherwise wouldnt know about at all like this, thank you so much mate. Looks interesting and very unique but Im just struggling to see how its worth more than most DD bases or even DD base & wheel combos...wow. Also wondering if theres an electronic glitch/failure what will you be locked in or out of...

    Well, it’s two different products. The BASH Pro is as useless as a wheel, as a DD Wheel is as a h-patterns shifter. 😂 Since this is the only shifter on the market that has activate gates, and it’s produced mostly by hand in small numbers, it’s going to get expensive as only the diehard enthusiasts will want to pay for it. But if you do, and you like driving h-pattern cars, you won’t regret it. There is simply no other shifter on the market giving you the same feel and features.

    True but a wheel is necessary for all driving, though I do fully agree & appreciate this thing and the amazing engineering in it and can’t say I wouldn’t want one as I love H-Pattern driving & a nice sequential but like most I just couldn’t justify $1500…or if I could maybe not with internal 3D printed parts unless they were completely non functional/wearing. Being even more precious I would have to say I’m all about function but at that price point I would probably expect a bit more form too. I guess my point is if they could get it down to $800-$900 they would completely corner the market and may have to if the bigger companies are “influenced” by it and start rolling out their own

    @@marcviller2060AFAIK the 3D printed internals are just the cover shown, so not a mechanical part under stress. And I for one see 3D printed parts as a plus. If it breaks, then I can replace it myself from my own printer as I assume the manufacture will send me an .stl instead of an entirely new part. I actually wish the large scale manufacturers would also do this. Imagine something on you Logitech, Thrustmaster or Fanatec breaking, and you’d be able to just 3D print a replacement part yourself within an hour?

    @@SleepySleepy500 Thank you for the info I only realised after seeing your comment and also one posted by SRC that it is just the internal cover that's 3D printed and as I mentioned earlier not being a mechanical part under wear/load or stress as you stated, I would have zero problems with it. I also 100% agree with you in that if it did fail(a long while down the track you would hope) having the capacity hopefully to be supplied the .stl and printing it yourself could not be more ideal and the same with any device Only problem I see with that is not everyone would be like us with the capacity and ability to just print parts, although becoming more common I would think there are probably more people that can't than can so if it were necessary it would be a headache with turn around time etc for them I assume, and also along the same lines some people just lacking the confidence or ability to just gut things open too

    In a real car you can't take the transmission out of gear if it's under load, or if the clutch is not pressed. It doesn't seem to be able to simulate that.

    They could have skipped seq. mode. It’s more like an afterthought and not a reason to buy this shifter. I hav never even tested seq. mode on mine on track as I see no point. Much better standalone options for seq. if that’s what you want.

    im pretty sure i could make a force feedback shifter with 7-R for cheaper then 150$ nevermind the prices on these crazy shifters.. shit u could buy a 30$ ebay shifter. and make that into a FFB shifter for another 20-30 bucks

    Awesomeness! Please tell us how you would do that and what parts are required to make a 30 dollar e-bay shifter into a FFB shifter with enough power to prohibit a shift into a gate (that cost a total of 30 bucks as you claim). Also, which software I can use to make this interface with the sim in such a way that the force feedback acts like active gates?

    Who uses H-shifters in modern racing?

  • @SimRacingCorner

    @SimRacingCorner

    There are plenty of racing games that feature manual gearbox cars. Which is why these devices exist. Now, do you need to use one? No. But some people, who enjoy the simulation side of racing games, like to use hardware that reflects the transmission used in the car being driven.

    @@SimRacingCorner I can't remember the last time I used an H-shifter in iRacing or rFactor2...even the last gen Nascar don't gain anything from H-shift on ovals and little on road courses. Everything else is either paddle shift or sequential. and I have a top quality sequential shifter and of course paddles. I guess for some nostalgic drive like a 289 Cobra, but I just don't drive them. I have a couple of H-shifters which just never get used 🙂
