Beautiful trees. You made it easy to follow by breaking it down to geometric shapes. As I am sitting on my porch, I can actually notice the general shape of the neighborhood trees rather than a specific individual shape. Never have looked at trees that way. Makes more sense for painting them now. Thank you!! Your videos are always awesome.
These are wonderful! I am a tree art lover and I'm gonna go off right now and paint me some "Emma trees"! 🌳
Emma thanks for this great lesson on how to paint trees.
I can't put into words how amazing these are. As usual, I'm intimidated to try, but I think I actually *will* this time. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

You can so it!
So beautiful, would love to see them incorporated in an autumnal scenery. Please could you do autumnal painting videos? :)
This is crazy 😮 🎉
This is so stunning. Thank you so much for showing this super cool tutorial. I learned much more about painting simple beautiful trees. 😍 🙏
Thanks a lot just moving from acrylic to watercolor. This helps
This was a great tutorial. Would you do it again with trees ( maple, oak, beech) in fall colors? Thanks for all you do!
I am new to watercolor painting, and your videos have been so helpful. They’re easy to follow. You really show the basics of you know where to start and I have saved everyone of them. Thank you so much.
Can't wait to incorporate these into my card-art. Thanks for showing these. Very pretty!!!
Just need to tell you how much I’m loving my brushes! When I first got them, I was really questioning why the large size 12, then the 2 smaller rounds. Now, I love that large 12. I’ll start a painting thinking I’m only going to do the sky with it, then I end up using it for most of the painting! The tip is so sharp on it, you can use it even for details! Great set!

So glad you love them!
OK I learnt more in this video clip than any other video EVER!!! I'm buying your book!
Lovely! Can’t wait to try these.
Beautiful trees. Great lesson. Thank you.
Thank you! It really helped me to hear about how I should make one side lighter, and properly using tone. My trees were looking really flat before! Thanks :) 2 weeks into my watercolour journey
Great tutorial. You made it look easy! Thank you so much!
Awesome tutorial I love how you make so easy to paint thank you
These weee fun to paint along! ❤️
Oooh these look so pretty! Definitely gonna try the tutorials after work!
I have been trying paint trees in watercolour for over 20 years (I am by no means a watercolour artist yet like to dabble) but this is the first tutorial that has really resonated with me. Thanks so, so much.
Great tutorial! Thanks Emma
Oh this is a great video. I have tried several different ways to make trees. These look real. Thank you so much 🌞🌞🌞
great video. good balance between ease if technique and quality of result. Get a surprising amount of both here. Will try and probably create a mess.
My dad’s always telling me to think of things as just basic shapes but seeing how you used that concept to paint your trees it finally clicked! I might be able to actually paint trees now! I’m excited to go home and try this!
Thank you so much! This is really giving me the tools to complete the trees I asked about in your FB suggestions on what we wanted to learn. I’m looking forward to your book.
I love trees! Excellent tutorial! Thank you.
Awesome!
Love it, just painted my first tree and im really happy with how it turned out!!!
Perfect lesson ! Gréât explanations !!! Gréât inspiration !!!! Thanks so much !!!
Thanks learned a bunch, see ya next time.
Very nice to see the beautiful trees! I was very inspired and try to draw it on my own. I used to draw landscapes but struggeling with trees sometimes. It's more the regular shape and the correct shadow, that they look more 3d. Your trees was easy and quite cute. Thank you alot!
Interesting ~ I’ve never been taught to do trees with this method. I guess for beginners it works. 😁
Thank you for your explanation .It helped me alot😊☺️
Thank you SO much! I’ll try these today! I don’t want to be greedy but I’m from Colorado and would love to see a beginner vide of an Aspen tree. 😍
Love, love, love this. I'm going try this for sure!
Love the tree study.
Thank you so much, Emma J. I need to work on these trees.

They are my collaboration brushes with craftamo. Link in the description
Hi Emma, I’m excited to give this a try. Question, are you using the hot or cold pressed Etchr Sketchbook in this video?
Beautiful trees Emma. You make it look do easy, yet fun . I really learn from you!!!Are your Craftamo brushes the same as your Princeto Snap brushes??

They’re not the same brushes. They’re pretty different. You can check out some demos I done of them on my channel
i didnt catch what color the trunk on the tree was in terms of the color you first used. Thanks emma

For the green trees I used burnt umber. The yellow one I used a light wash of black
So, I have an inexpensive but heavy watercolor paper and a decently-reviewed but inexpensive watercolor palette, and this just... immediately turns into one big smeary puddle for me? Like it doesn't keep any of that sense of clear highs/mids/lows in the colors by the time it's dried? It doesn't look completely terrible, but it doesn't look like yours. It would be nice if the beginner tutorials used beginner-level supplies, the paper here especially is stuff I can't justify spending on at my current skill level.
please less talking and more doing.
