Yup, the first thing I did was to remove the cords from both of my openers. I now have a long stiff wire hanging on the wall to open the door manually is need be.
Just take that red grip off the bottom and untie the knot at the bottom and keep the cord short enough it can’t reach over to the front. Then they can’t hook it with a coat hanger

You need to correct this because it’s false. They can still put the coat hanger through the eylet. Watch the news report on garage door thieves, you can can’t just remove the rope you need to secure the release together.

True but also incredibly difficult to try to release it without the rope. It’s can be hard to do even if you’re inside the garage on many models
