Yes. They make me wild. They play every hand with bad cards and when you raise preflop with good cards, they always seem to hit the flop. It then makes me wonder if I should play more hands.i would call myself a tight player and aggressive when I have good cards. Possibly too predictable that I play with good cards only. They will keep playing their bad hands to the River but somehow luck is on their side.

Excellent video. All I would add is that when you make a premium vs this player that won't fold 87 (let's say you flop a set) is once they call the flop overbet the turn and river. Get max value!

Okay this is super helpful. Sometime I fall into theee limping parties, sometimes out of laziness and I notice when I do that it drains my bank roll . I also like this because it’s not overly aggressive where u piss then off and then give you the full court press on every hand u play.

Hi Nathan, thank you very much for these many instructive videos. Very clear explanation and entertaining to watch. What I like the most is that you also make it clear that many of these "pro" tipps one can find online won't work in recreational settings with hobbyist players that don't know what they are doing and just call or raise no matter what. I am a complete beginner getting started, and I already got frustrated by following some of the tipps I found online only to figure out that they don't work against players that just play every hand and would call anything. It's a bit like starting out with weight lifting and using the same workout plan that professional bodybuilders use... it doesn't work for the casual beginner. I would love to find a playlist on your channel explaining the different concepts of the game step by step to a beginner like me. While you have hundreds of useful videos, the thumbnails are often very generic (I get it, it's to draw in viewers), so it is difficult for me to know what videos to focus on for now.

If you're the most solid player at the table, almost always assume that people playing back at you is NOT a bluff. Bad players get angry when better players beat them. But solid players go nuclear when a "fun" player spikes the nuts with some random junk.

So true. Once, I tried to take down a lose aggressive player in a 1/2 game and i cost me $700 in short 2 hours. Not only he was aggressive but also he was running like God that night. When i thought i had stronger hands than him he would open up AK, AQs If I go back in time I will change table and i think thats the best decision.

Well I can't say it works every time if I come out strong before the flop and I'm in position when everybody else is lamp in and a scarecrow card comes up on the block I will make a continuation bet up close to the pot where's all this depends on the other players and their perception of you I would say it works 70% of the time

Isn't it contradictory to check the turn because a lot of times they have the Ace but then bet for thin value on the river?

I'm very loose but I never limp...never. I shove when I flop top top or better.... I target the wannabe pros who get upset when I play hands they bitch about... I play the situation, the player and lastly my cards... I know this flys in the face of poker lore but in mid stakes it works... for me.

How do you play an overpair in a 3bet pot as pfr oop? Usually I 3bet x4 oop, and I cbet 30% on the flop. How do you play against a set? Ofc I'm winning with the big 4 (JJ-AA) but sometimes these spots are tricky. Is it just a cooler?

On the turn I probably check to pot control vs regs/bad regs, and I fire again vs fish

In the first scenario this is almost always two pair or better. Fish rarely check raise with one pair or a draw.

You should almost never bet again on the A as a bluff, these players have all the Ax in the deck. With this card you should check and try a get to the show down. It’s like calling big bet on the river with a small flush draw, they have all the Kxss, Qxss, Jxss and 10xss.

The problem I run into is loose "any-two" type of player, however, this player raises pre-flop. Then, on the flop, when it comes out a bunch of junk, which is more often than not, he raises again, and everyone folds, basically because no one hit anything. How do I deal with this type of player?

All you have to do is avoid paying the bets they give to you to see the turn and river unless your hand has really good equity and you’re able to pay then you have to hit a really good flop on your range. Essentially you’re paying for a good price on your hand and playing against his range which would be a lower range than what you would have to play. What you’re trying to do is flop good and have enough reason to play the pot and push him out of chips. If you don’t have good hands with a good Flop to follow you’re just giving him chips. When playing against a very aggro player you don’t want to try and bluff a person always bluffing . You want to do the opposite . If you don’t have good hands just let him bust out . If you avoid playing hands with him if you don’t have the range you will save money and if you play hands good enough to beat an aggro players range you can double your stack against them. The ev on playing like this against an aggressive player makes your ev high and makes potential profit also high. Although note there may be times where you have the second nuts and they have the absolute nuts and you might lose. But that percentage is low.

The problem I have with this kind of player is that they limp not only their trush, but also their strong hands, especially the high pockets, but also strong aces and kings. For this reason I made some bad experiences with the strategy you suggest. I personally simply fold KTo on the button, when there are more than one limper, but raise of course my stronger hands.

For me it's a basic strategy, when you play at a $100 NL table, and you have a solid prem. hand, don't limp. Don't even mid raise. Bet a substantial amount. For example a pot where over half the table is calling the big blind or even a straddle of $6, you need to raise to $15 or more, depending on the pot of course. If you're in position you raise, no matter if you hit or not (unless over 3 people called you) Don't be hesitant. Confidently bet $20 or more. Now if you're not in position, usually loose recreational players will bet. At this point you have to gauge your stack and theirs. If you have a good read or want to test the waters, re-raise 1.5x more. *Hopefully it's heads up at this point. If not, again Gage the player in the pot with you and the board. This is basic in theory. Of course this game has a fluid flow like martial arts. It's about adapting. The small things

If I can't raise vs. loose players, I just fold. The trick is, you have to isolate. You don't want multiway pots vs. loose players. Get them heads up and be aggressive.

Cool Ideas, but this doesn't work at tournaments witht micro or low buy in. There are so many loose players in these tournaments - u can't isolate them. For example: Loose player number 1 in UTG limp, next player limp too - you raise 6 or 7 times the BB - then you got a call from another player in the small blind, the big blind call too and the two limpers call as well. Now you play against 4 other loose player. And what happens? One of them hit his two pair, set, flush or straight. Boom. That happens not all the time but too often. What you need in Poker (I speak about small stakes poker or micro tournament poker) is...luck, luck, luck Just my 2 cents

People limp with all sort of cards. AA, KK, QQ, AK, AQ, small pairs, weak A. It diesn't make sense to raise with K10 because you are behind all of these combinations. Nit to talk about when there are more than one limper. Recreational players are unpredictable. My advice is fold K10 on the button. If you have lunatics at the poker table you have to have high pairs and AK, AQ suited to raise them, keep the pot small, and always be prepared to fold.

There may be the uncommon NIT that limps premium hands vs a LIMP HAPPY PASSIVE table(The STUPIDEST thing to do). And if there are AGRO, HYPER AGRESSIVE SEMI MANIACS, then yes players will LIMP TRAP premiums vs that. But the USUAL reality, is that MOST of the time, LOOSE players ARE NOT usually limping MONSTER hands, except for exception situations. Most of the time, those LOOSE players open limping T9 suited, 22, etc, OUT OF POSITION. KT suited is USUALLY AHEAD OF their limp in range. Next you have BEST POSITION at the table, on the button. That is a BIG ADVANTAGE. And even if they have a hand better then KT suited PREFLOP, like A2 suited, your still repping a better range then A2+, and you likely have good table image to where you can CBET and either fold them out or hit a draw, improve, etc. And you can still fold if need to postflop. If you open fold KT suited on the button vs a LOOSE limpers, that usually limps TRASH, simply because they might theoretically limp the occasional premium hand, then your a FISH DONK NIT, OMC. And newer players should not listen to you. And if a LOOSE TRASH LIMPER is miraculously limping a Premium, then you can flop 2 pair, Trips, straight, flush, AND STACK YOUR OPPONENT, because they won't be able to fold a premium postflop, and they won't put you on a monster hand, etc. And even if you lose about 4% to 7% of the time when raise KT suited on button vs limper, then that's ok, because USUALLY over the long term your winning, beating that LOOSE TRASH LIMPER. And they might fold their trash limp postflop to your KT suited 5,6,7 bb ISOLATION raise, so that you SCOOP the pot with your MARGINAL KT. Johnathon Little, Nathan Blackrain, Upswing Poker, Bart Hanson's CRUSH Live and online poker, Poker Profit, Harrington on Hold Em, Super System by Doyle, Daniel Negreanu and Ivey's MASTERCLASSES, and my humble 17 years of profitable play(Not a pro), are ALL MORE CREDIBLE then what your saying, and ALL say to either Isolation raise KT suited type marginal hands vs LOOSE TRASH LIMPERS, IN POSITION, ON BUTTON, or to limp behind in position to monster hand mine if have good enough pot odds. NONE SAY TO OPEN FOLD KT SUITED TYPE HANDS ON BUTTON VS A LOOSE TRASH LIMPER. Raising KT suited on button vs loose trash limper is GREATER THEN LIMP CALLING ON BUTTON AND THAT IS GREATER THEN OPEN FOLDING KT SUITED ON BUTTON VS LOOSE TRASH LIMPER.
