I gotta say, I love your videos & the fact that you bring your daughter out. My niece is about to turn 3 and her dad is a wanna-be/in-the-making outdoorsman, and this seems like a great way to get both of them into some fun Florida outdoors activity together :D

Some days are good some days are not especially with this wind 😀💪

I use a 6' of 40 lb mono leader and a #0 or #1 squid spoon with the red swivel and a 3 oz round sinker with barrel swivels on the ends. That is the classic mackerel rig which has worked for me since I started using it in the late 70s. Just cast, let it go to the bottom, and retrieve. It's work but it catches everything - mackerel,. bonita, bluefish, jacks, blue runners, etc. It is very effective when the tide is moving.

Everybody nowadays uses that in the Pier. So dangerous most of them don't even look when they cast will get somebody's eye one day ☹️

@@FishOnChannel they are supposed to cast under hand so they don't injure someone behind them. That's how the old timers taught me way back. If anyone tried to cast over hand they'd get a stern lecture about safety.

@@FishOnChannel Oh I believe you because I have seen it there myself plenty of times. People have been injured by the hooks and weights. One guy was hooked through the nose and the park ranger called the ambulance. We cut the hook and backed it out but the bleeding would not stop.

@@FishOnChannel 🤔 Humm, is it a boat , I’m still working on my nano flats skiff , an 11’ V hull 1965 Cacci craft that I’ve gutted and will put casting plat forms on, I’ve been lazy lately, I want to get it done for going after Tarpon, my boat didn’t have a title or registration, went to the DMV sat for two hours , and it only took like 10 minutes to get a home made boat and trailer registration and title , it cost $92 bucks, you know anyone that welds poling platforms?
