Simple Life in the Woods - Cutting trails to find Big Game
Ойын-сауық
Want a simple Life in the Woods? We do, and we love it. It has always been a dream to hunt right from our house, from a little cabin in the woods. We've been living that dream for years now but it doesn't get old. This year we made a lot of new trails, a ridiculously high tree stand, a secret trail camera network and eventually track down some big game!

Boring..
Men can learn from this dad, women can learn from this mother, girls can learn from this beautiful girls, family can learn from this family. I have no words to describe. Beautiful❤.
It's hard to believe how the girls have grown up so much
Absolutely one of the best hunting videos I've seen. The bugling around the 14:00 mark was amazing and then the bears living their best life in the middle of all that activity and then the moose and then the.... ok ok. My heart rate and breathing increased as did yours each time the elk got close and then you would pan over to your daughter who with the stoic, calm demeanor of her mother was always ready to take care of business. My 13 year old daughter and I are preparing for hunting season here in eastern Nebraska/western Iowa, very much appreciate you and yours sharing these videos.
Being a seasonal small game hunter, I am super proud of you and Julia. Huge respect to Julia for being such a powerful hunter and a good daughter.

What right do you have to be proud of them? Did you raise them , did you teach them?…..do you know them in real life? …. What right do you have to claim pride in them?

You didn’t answer my questions… the fact is that you didn’t have anything to do with raising her to be who she is… you taught her nothing you didn’t influence her you didn’t guide her in any way whatsoever…. This is EQUIVALENT TO STOLEN VALOR … which is wrong

@@Workin_roadtrip Jesus Christ, who hurt you? Since when can people not be proud of someone, I mean he didnt raise YT guy and said he is proud of him too, why not go into detail about that one as well? Weirdly just talking about the girl arent you? Let the man write his comments god dammit, what kind of person do you have to be to be such a looser on the internet.
When you both walked in wood, father and daughter with guns, you reminded me Mel Gipson with his kids in the movie Patriots .
That was a great hunting video! So much better than any hunting show on TV. I'll be eagerly awaiting the mountain hunting videos!
Plenty of good game for sure
I was wondering if we were gonna see some hunting again. Nice!
That was an awesome video! Thank you. Julia, you are incredible, calm, collected, fearless!
You are such a cool dad. Glad one of your daughters enjoys the hunt.
your hunting videos are my favourite hunting vids to watch and i watch a lot of these...im a bc resident and im so proud that you guys are my 'neighbors'! i have raised my kids to be confident and kind and im blown away by how incredible your girls are! I hope Julia gets her elk! i wish more people had the courage to live the lives we should all be living.... respect!
yeah, gridlessness. it would be interesting to have a video about your horses, particularly what's involved with winter care.

Yes that would be interesting
That is one competent young lady! I love the confidence and can do attitude the girls have. Cheers and best wishes to all.
Really enjoyed seeing the moose in their natural environment. Thanks for taking us along.❤
Glad you posted was wondering where you all went. Julia is certifiably crazy in the trees. She has always been fearless.
Oh Wow, oh Wow, oh wow! I had my sound turned Way up, it was the neatest thing!
Good afternoon from Syracuse NY everyone thank you for sharing your adventures and your videos
I don’t know how but I decide to watch this video with my two year old and she fell asleep with ease for her nap while watching with me. So THANK YOU!! We love your videos around here (we live a very similar lifestyle). And hey, they’re relaxing too apparently 😆 much love from Ohio!
Love your hunting videos!!❤
Awesome the way he was peaking between those trees! I bet you wished right then you were back at your job.... lol
Thanks for sharing!! I hope everyone has a blessed day!! 🙏🙏🙏
just read the other comments and i want you guys to know i wasnt repeating what had already been said...you're the best channel on youtube! keep it goimg !!
When you have a bull acting like that, RUN at him! You will spend all of bugle time chasing him in circles if you try to sneak on him. They are used to noises from elk so your movement will be expected. Oh, and throw that hoochie mama cow call away! Great video! Love what you guys are doing.
As someone who just happened along to find this channel, I am surely glad I did. That was a great video and goes to show that you don't always have to pull the trigger to have successful hunting experience As a new viewer I will look forward to watching more.
This was an amazing video. So rich with wildlife and the anticipation of getting an elk bull… I was holding my breath 😀 loved it.
You all did great preparing the trails for hunting👍. Good Hunting! JO JO
Great Video... love the work you put in, even tho the tree stand didn't bear fruit this time. Good lesson in perseverance for Julia. Can't wait for the next one!
I put up a stand at 30 feet once for whitetail hunting and thought that was high. 40 feet! Now that’s good stuff!
That grouse flushing just scared the heck out of you ‼️ great hunt
That was exciting for sure.
I always love your families videos. Thanks for sharing.
Best hunting vid I've ever watched. Thanks to you and your family.
Wow! What a day! Great job, I could feel the anticipation! Stay after them!!
Greetings from the land of Blaze King. Thanks for one of the better hunting videos I've seen - and again - I'm old and have seen a bunch. Thanks also for the sound track! Our Okanagan bulls have shut right up again this fall, so I'm getting my fix vicariously through you all. Good luck on the rest of your hunts this fall.
Love your hunting videos! I wait all year for them.
Busted by the Cows😂. Excellent video. I miss the Bush. Crippled up in my old age. Like the 40' stand
And i love it
Julie you en your pa .are awsome you have a very .awsome dad .en he gas a very .very awsome beautiful .daughter .I just get impressed every time I watch .big smile on my face cuss you girls are amazing .talented .fearless .over en above .
Simple life, thanks you for sharing video.
Loved everything about this one
That was one of the best vids from you Just calm and relaxing Cheers from Ontario
Love how none of the animals seem to think those trail cams are very stealth. 😆
I like the hunting videos, I felt like I was right there with you and Julia. It's very exciting to lock eyes with a big game animal and stare each other down. I grew up hunting whitetail deer and small game, mostly around a swamp on the backside of my families property. I'm going back out this year with my crossbow as soon as the weather cools a bit, still in the 80's here which is crazy. Thanks for the video and good luck on your hunts this year.

@@Gridlessness Thank you, harvesting a deer isn't my main concern, I just like being out there watching the season change, it's good therapy, be safe.
Beautifully done video, subscribed. The amount of wildlife on that property is very impressive. Being able to wake to the variety of wildlife sounds every morning must bring joy to your heart. Favorite part was the river otters, used to have a few visiting my property but they moved on for some reason and I highly miss being able to watch their antics. Be alert when up in that sky platform, I had one similar and being up there when the wind changes and suddenly gusts up can get you hugging that tree and hoping for a fast safe way down. Keep an eye on the weather when planning to climb it for a sit. Be safe and above all be free.
Great BIG FUN!
Love ur guys team work n the patient
You folks are awesome!
Thanks for another outstanding video guys
Hi gridlessness i watch ur videos since then
Pretty exciting video you guys! You had me on the edge of my chair. Thanks - from Hells Canyon, Frank.
Excellent video! Good luck in the Mountains! Take care!
I,m glad I saw this before heading back to the forest. I need a critter cam
We got a bison last year. The best meat ever! We just got the hide back and it is beautiful.
nice Horse back intro looks like the Avatar in Pandora computer battle scene
What a good time! Works OVERRATED! And I still had to do it even after moving to the woods!
Thanks for a fantastic video!
Such a great channel glad to see youve gained more subs hopefully it gets even bigger
Can’t wait for the next video!
Amazing Video
Holy cow that was amazing!!! What a busy animal area you have!❤
All i can say is GREAT i loved it
Good luck. Happy hunting.
I wait in anticipation and baited breath..❤❤
You all are leading the most envious of lives. After this experience how do ever go back to living the urban life?
Awesome stuff! 👌
The growl of that bull is awesome
Thanks
Yes
Great video 👍🏻
❤ this video
A long time ago. Your beautiful family made me a really great 45-70 ammo holder for my lever action. It's been in the woods with me, through thickets and meadows several times. It's still like brand new. Rugged and Fantastic! I put some leather protectant on it and it holds my rounds for easy access. A friend of mine pointed it out last time I had my Marlin out shooting and I told him that I got it from your little family hand made. His was a nylon ammo holder and not nearly as nice as mine. Anyway, I wanted to share that with you and your family and say thanks. I definitely got my money's worth and a good story to boot!

So glad that you love your ammo holder! And love the story too!
Good family and strong, continue and forget about the comments
The elk sure are plentiful.
Very good your video 👍
Did you check your neighbour's driveway? 😀 I’ve never hunted with calling something in like that. Looks really wild to be interacting with the animal like that, but I bet the video doesn’t do justice to showing how much time, and patience this requires. Good luck on the next phase. I like your hunting videos, because they’re not Ike all those "professional" hunters. It’s just regular people hunting……in a hunting paradise. Until the animal people make you stop.

I was waiting for Julia to pull the trigger 😅
Awesome🎉🎉🎉🥳🥳🥳
I mostly just hunt Whitetail, deer, and pigs in Central Mississippi. I was thinking early on if I was y’all I would have some tree stands in there especially if it’s your property.
Let’s just walk where the bears were 😂
I think sometimes when you use a cow or calf call...they just call back saying hey keep up.
That’s some good video…to bad you didn’t get your bull in that video but we’ve all been there before
great video, sometimes less words are better and this is one of them!
Awesome video! Spooky to hear those big animals and not know exactly where they are!

The spooky ones are those than make no noise....like bears.
One of the best ways of dealing with the overpowering undergrowth in your forest area is goats. They will keep it under control and supply milk and meat.
hahaha respect... that was awkward! might as well have dropped the mic 😂
Muchos saludos 😉 espero que todos estén bien bonito video
God. I hope I can live like y'all soon..
Outstanding firearm handling and safety
You have to include young bull calls along with cow chirps gives him a reason to investigate
I'm watching from Nepal
Kerenn bro
Love the hunting vids the best, a little constructive criticism… yes they are always going to hang up 50-100 yards out. Especially a herd bull unless it’s really early and just finding cows or really late looking for last to breed! You stay back 100yds and have Julia either wait for the bull or slowly creep in as he bugles. I know it’s harder in 6 zone I have it here too stupid rule imo… once you have him going good like that stay aggressive with him, match his bugle, cut him off as he tries! Make him angry… and most importantly always always play the wind. Keep them coming and good luck this fall 👊🏻
Wouldn't it be funny for it was another set of hunters calling back to you , hahahahaha Both frozen with excitement calling and waiting for the elk to get closer so you can get the shot . 😆😂😂
Hi Folks 👋👋👋👋
God’s country is awesome
Great clips watching the moose snack. Jeff needs a saddlebag to carry great homemade snacks while traveling by horse. Recommend commissioning Julia to make you a top quality handcrafted leather saddle bag. Homemade sourdough pretzels with extra salt would be a great snack for moose if Jeff had a saddlebag to carry them. 😇
You guys make awesome videos. I've watched them all. You sure ae good a filming the animals! What river is that?
Fot wheeler with horse hahaha
