The world needs more achitects like this man and less architect that want to be excentric artists. My college thesis was about this type of modular contructions, I develop a temporary shelter out of bambu, so the work of this man resonated a lot much with me and my views that architeture can be useful in pratical and concrete ways to society.
Your story inspired me a lot!!! I’m currently a second-year architecture student in the US... I hope I can do something meaningful like what you have done after graduating ☺️
WoW. This touched my heart and spirit. Ive been designing low income housing complexes in my mind and on The Sims. He inspired me to go to architecture school, which is what I originally wanted to do a long time ago. This is one of my favorite Tedx. Thank you. 🙏
With the "black box" it would be so easy to set up schools and clinics anywhere in the world. This is just amazing. It would so helpful for after disaster help.

@@9n2f3 well not to mention the structural nightmare that it presents. Guess thats why when I searched for the completed project all I saw were scale models.

wish I could hit LIKE repeatedly ..... thank you Alok Shetty
We need such real humans like this brilliant mind & soul in our world! Much love and respect to this man.
Shipping containers are the BEST boxes to think inside really. I don't think I've been disappointed yet with shipping container architecture whether it's a collapsible/modular structure in one or two containers designed to be mobile, or their use as pieces to build the skeleton of larger structures.
Really interesting ... inspires me to not give up on ideas and keep working on them or having my own practice
What an incredible start to ones career. Love how hes is using his skills to help others. Ideal life in my opinion, spend your life making other peoples lives better.

Thanks Alok and best of luck to you and your team. Great to hear about your temporary accommodation for nomadic working and upcycled shipping container solutions. I'd love to have heard more about why your hospital and airport ideas were adopted. Well done to you.
I am glad I watched this! 👏👏👏👏

What an incredible design concept, Fantastic :D
We here in South Africa designed a Mobile Clinic and operating theatre for war situations, done by Dr Imtiaz Suleman of his NGO, titied , The Gift of Givers. The first was used in Bosnia, and many other countries, including Syria.
Fantastic ideas and ethos - we need more like you in Architecture and even some in government?

Great
I would like to see his clinic on train is there a name or something like that?
What about the air gaps in Slum Housing from which mosquitoes could enter?
good idea
Septic tanks should be mention. Around the world no sepic tanks standard. Best design for septic tanks should be like the blackwater (toilet) should be seperated from gray water( sink , Shower) and the liquified processsed from the black water tanks should be drain to the gray water tanks. the processed liquid from gray water tanks to the drain fields.
Nice
What is the name of the hospital?

Same with me. I just turned 17 when I got in architecture school. I skipped grade 11 and 12 because we didn't have it at that time unlike in other countries.
Why is he bragging about himself!! It would be great if he didn’t add lot of unwanted messages!
🤔he’s from my college lmao .
Yeah go on brag and make it look extraordinary than it actually is.
lmao
Better to be at college. LoL
meh.
None of this is really innovative...these kinds of projects (and truly innovative projects) are presented and discussed in architecture schools every day. I had a professor that worked with students to design and build a low cost brick that filters air pollution, for example. This video is just 18 minutes of some dude bragging about his own accomplishments while trying to present his good but unremarkable ideas as if they are cutting edge...
