THANK YOU! You did a fantastic job! This was the easiest, fastest, and best blanket I have ever made! For those struggling without the pattern written out-try pausing the video as you go, and rewinding when necessary. I did this and rewound for the ends until I had it memorized. I made a GIANT version for my husband, pups, and I to share, and it is amaaaaazingly soft!

I just finished mine and it turned out lovely! I did 117 chains (+3 for the turning) and that was pretty sufficient for a larger blanket. I used 6 sheins of the 300g Bernat Blanket yarn and just kept going until they all ran out. Will be making more and will probably buy more sheins in order to make the blanket extra extra extra large :) Thank you, again!

I've been crocheting for years (decades, lol). I've recently been looking for a really simple, and somewhat open (with holes in it) pattern for this beautiful, thick, furry chenille yarn I have. Making a gift for someone. I tried a couple other patterns, but besides being too intricate for this kind of yarn, you can't see most patterns through the fuzziness, anyway, Then I came across your tutorial and I think it's the one! Can't wait to try it with this yarn. Also though, When you held up your own complete afghan, I immediately saw that it is the exact pattern of the blanket my great aunt made for me soooo long ago as a graduation gift! It is even the same color. It was very special to me because she was older and even blind, yet she went through all the trouble to crochet this beautiful - and huge! - blanket for me : ) Somehow, I lost it years ago in a move and I always felt so bad about that. But now, I can recreate it since I see this is the exact pattern! I am grateful for your tutorial and that I stumbled upon it!! Well, I'll recreate it after I make the first blanket w this soft, fuzzy, pale green chenille yarn. Thanks 🙏 😊 Also, it's cool to see younger people getting into crocheting. It's so easy, quick, and it's so rewarding, right? Plus, there are so many gifts you can make for people and they always appreciate a beautiful, handmade gift. Keep on hookin' ; ) ❤

Thanks for this video. I found some super cute chenille yarn (size 6) at the dollar store and it was $1 for 65 yards so I bought 8 figuring that's what I'd spend on yarn. Then I had to decide if I was gonna wrap something or try to learn knitting or crocheting. I did a bit more research then randomly bought a 10mm crochet hook then figured out that kind of stuff mattered so it was a blessing to find this tutorial right away for the exact stuff I already had on hand that was easy to follow. Thank you!

I really want to make a baby blanket for my Neice who is due is April. We'll see how it goes. I run into either adding a couple of stitches to losing. Stitch or two along the way. I need to figure out how to keep my rows nice and straight. Think i need some of those row markers for a while. Still I'm motivated so we'll see how things progress.

It's weird how people do it differently I use the hook to do the work not the other hand to do the work it's all back to front! Made me feel ill !!!! But it's going to give me an idea of something I can do..so thankyou 😂

Did you use two skins of that same crochet yarn to complete your blanket project.

I am working with the Bernat velvet stripes and it’s beautiful but so hard to see the stitches and after many false starts and errors on other patterns, I was able to get this one going without error the very first try. Thank you. It’s looking nice already!!

I have Bernat Blanket Stripes to use. I have 2 x 300g balls plus 4 x 100g balls of similar wool I'm going to use. How big did you make your blanket and how much wool?

Question. At the end of the 2nd row, around 7:30, it looks like you completely skip a space instead of putting 2 DC in that next space. Then you also skip the last space and put a DC in the chain by that last space. Just want to make sure I’m understanding the pattern and that on row 2, you skip the next to last space and put a DC in that chain. Also, does the rest of the blanket follow the pattern of row 3, or do we switch back and forth between row 2 and row 3 directions? They are slightly different at the end of those rows. Thank you!

I have been crocheting for a fairly long time, but always looking for new patterns. I think this is exactly what I am looking for, for a gift. You did a good job explaining things! I wonder if you, I was trying to watch when you showed the entire blanket. ❤️

I crochet exactly the same way you do. Apparently, it is a very rare way of crocheting. Experts say there is not a right or wrong way of crocheting.

Can you please tell us how many chains you made for the blanket you showed at the beginning? I know you said to do multiples of 9 but I was hoping to have to cut out all the guess work.

Crochet a sample of two or three multiples of nine and cross het a few rows. Now you can measure how long the piece is and do the math according to how big you want your project t to be. It's all in the math.

Great easy tutorial I just don’t understand why my blanket is curling into the shape of a C 😩 Edit: Problem solved the tension of my yarn was too tight my blanket is now coming along nicely 🥰 Thank you for an easy to follow tutorial 🙂

U would do chains of 9. Until u get the width u want. So if I'm making a queen I look up how many in wide a queen bedspread is than id chain 9 until I get that many inches width. Thab of coarse add 3 like she siad at the end.

So sorry if I’m being dumb here but after the row where you DC into the chain do you go back to DC into the big space then next row into chain again if that makes any sense ??
