The EASIEST & BEST Crochet Stitch for Chenille Yarn ❤

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

If you have ever wanted a soft, snuggly, cosy crochet blanket then chenille yarn, velvet yarn or blanket yarns are the best! HOWEVER, they can be difficult yarns to work with so in this video, I will show you the BEST and EASIEST crochet stitch to use with these yarns. I will show you how to crochet between your stitches (so no struggling to find the tops!), how to carry your yarn up the sides to avoid excess shedding of yarn tails AND how to crochet around your finished blanket to prepare for any border you fancy!

🔥 Frequently Asked Questions:
Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on KZread yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthevideo.com/ and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyrobin.com The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.
Can you remake this video so it is slower? If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! 😀 See this video on exactly how: • How to Adjust the Spee...
Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyrobin.com/crochet...

What you have shown makes so much sense. I searched a lot, even under bulky yarns to no avail. Thank you so much. All I wanted was a simple scarf. Thanks again.

I know that you made this video a couple of years ago, but I so wish that I stumbled upon it a long time ago. I bought me some blanket yarn (that’s what we call our thick fluffy yarn here in the USA), and I was looking at a ton of videos on different types of patterns to use for this type of yarn. Your pattern is like a breath of fresh air! I love how easy it is,it works up quite easily, and the pattern is beautiful! You’re right, half double crochets do work up well with this type of yarn☺️!

You have a great deal of patience and posses great teaching qualities. This is a new stitch, a new texture of yarn, and a new pattern for me. 😊 I am so excited to create my first baby blanket w/border for my new grandson 🥰

wish i had found this last year when i decided to make my first ever blanket out of chenille, lmao. esp since i did do a half double for it; not having to look for the tops of the stitches every time prob would've saved me a lot of time and heartache. def keeping this in mind since i just started winter break and i miss all my d&d friends at university (i told them they're all getting blankets unless they tell me no). wanted to mention this tho, one fix i found (sort of by accident) for weaving in chenille tails: have them be maybe a little longer than a traditionally long tail and let it shed enough so you can see and work with the two little bits of string in the middle. after weaving through a few times, wrap the exposed string around a random bit of yarn and do a simple double (or even triple) knot. they're small enough that they easily hide away and you can't feel them through the chenille, and so far i haven't noticed them loosen up or go anywhere (but of course the tighter the knot the better). mega thanks for this; glad to know these tricks now so i can feel better about working w/ this kind of yarn (hard to find better 6+ size yarns, imo)!

I just happened upon your channel and this is the best instructional video I have ever seen. I love making chenille blankets but I've only done them in knitting because crochet seems to be too tight without enough stretch or the stitches or to open. This design is absolutely beautiful, easy, and as you said works well with the shedding and weaving of chenille yarn.

Pure genius. And what great timing for me. I was given three huge skeins of Bernat Crushed Velvet yarn and was struggling with different stitches of regular and Tunisian crochet and couldn't settle into any one of them because of the loops and other difficulties. I've done 3 rows and it's coming along like a breeze. So easy, fast and nice looking. Perfect! Thank you so much for sharing this.
