//FAQs??
-How many squares do I need for a baby blanket?
This can vary, it really can be however big or small you like, but i generally do 4x4 or 5x5.
This blog post might be useful: bit.ly/1UIobie
-How many chains shall I do for a *single/double/etc' blanket?
Again, this can vary. I would suggest that you do your chain and lay it down agains the bed you are wanting it for. It should be the same width. You should then ad a few more to make it a little wider.
This blog post might be useful: bit.ly/1UIobie
-How much yarn do I need?
Unfortunately, I will be able to answer individuals questions about how much yarn you would used do to multiple factors affecting it. Such as, your tension, the size of hook and the yarn being used.

    @@powellinaALDAYeach blanket I made was a different size, so it’s hard to say. I modified the pattern a bit to make a couple of my blankets a little wider and a little shorter (60 chains wide and about 40 rows). As a beginner, and wanting to take my time since it was a gift and I didn’t want to mess up, each row of 60 chains took about 10 minutes. So 6-7 hours for that size blanket. I think I used about 4 1/2 skeins of bernat blanket yarn.

Years ago, I made 3 other blankets using the same Bernat Blanket yarns, just different colors. I made them to fit a twin size bed & my 3 kids love them! They are cozy and oh-so-soft, plus they wash really well! We have washed ours at least 50 times over the past 6 years & they’re still going strong! I’ve also used the same yarn to make Adirondack winter hats & we just love love love them!!! So cozy but I love that they are super easy to wash! Thank you for sharing this video

    Molly It’s all about practice! If you’re just starting, I recommend making a blanket just for yourself to see what you need to work on, what patterns work best for you, etc. that’s how I started crocheting, started with one blanket for myself to see my weak points, and how to improve, etc. It helps you see how you’ve progressed! If you were planning on making it for someone else, continue, and when you’re all finished, start with one for you to help you

I wanted to do it so badly at first and assumed there would be no videos on KZread and That I would have to take classes. I made lots of projects for friends, family and my animals that they love so much. I just want to thank you so much for uploading videos to youtube for everyone to learn. It made me realize how happy and grateful I am for some people who just want to spread information regardless if their is a price on it. I thought I was foolish but I told myself, let me find one youtube video that explains it well enough and looks good enough for me to follow. Saw your vids and popped my order for the materials right away. It came today and I am planning to make this blanket. My first yarn I ordered was Bernat Baby blanket and its soft and heavenly but my god is it chunky and hard to play with. But all day I've been playing around with it and got used to it. Amazing! I made a blanket from this tutorial this weekend. All your tips were really helpful. I missed a few stitches and learned a lot about my tension and that I should have used a slightly bigger hook. But it turned out to be very pretty. I made it for my niece

    This has been my go-to video. First time crocheting a blanket, and I have seen others, but this has been my go-to video to follow for my first project. I had to slow the speed down a little. For self-taught over a KZread video ..not to bad if I say so myself

    I love the pattern in fact I crocheted a baby blanket in those same colors for my 1st great-grandson the year he was born (he’ll be 5 yrs old in August this year). And his Mommy my oldest granddaughter still has it to give him to keep when he’s older.

    im currently making my mom a blanket for mother's day. for reference im using loops and threads royal velvet yarn in the shade navy, it's a size 7, and im using a size 19 mm crochet hook and i only did 74 chains for the foundation (72+2 chains for turning) and so far its the perfect length i was looking for. i'll update this as i continue to make progress on the blanket and what her reaction was when i give it to her. (wish me luck that i get it done on time)

    I just started crochet and this is going to be my first project after practicing with some other yarn. I’m not making a baby blanket though. I’m making my daughter a regular sized blanket. We went and picked out the yarn and we’re both so excited but I think her expectations of how fast I’ll finish it are pretty high 😆

    So glad I found this, I’m wanting to start a crochet blanket business. Are these a good size for crochet throws or baby blankets? 🥲 I’m doing a few practice ones and I struggle with the sizing 😂

    The completed size is 25 inch (W) x 29 inch (H) approx, this maybe different depending on the type of yarn you use, your hook size and your personal tension. I would say that this is a baby blanket size. I wish you the best of luck with your business :)
