"I bent the wrong side" -- I can relate to this down to my soul. No matter how big or small of a project, I will manage to find something that should've been a 10 minute job turned into an hour correction.

Just yesterday, I put several countersinks for screw holes on the wrong side of the part. Fortunately, I was able to spot weld them closed, drill through the other side where the hole was still open and countersink the correct side. It just takes a small amount of lack in concentration.

Man, I Love these Videos! You really have got the Laid Back Hippy Bob Ross Mannerism, and the way he talked down to a Science. I should know, because back in my younger days me and a few of my Friends used to always watch his Show “The Joy of Painting” while partaking in a little Smoking session if you know what I mean. lol (That was in my younger days though) I am a responsible Adult now. When you said “that just really pissed me right off”in your Bob Ross voice, I was rolling on the Floor Laughing. Who said Welding Videos can’t be Fun? Not me, because these are Hilarious, and they are also very Educational at the same time. Keep up the Great Work, Bob Jr.

I'm just learning to weld as a hobby and to be able to be more useful around the house. This is the first episode I've seen of this series and it has certainly made my hole day! I do a lot of those types of goofs on just about every project I do.

Having welded a lot of galv stuff and made gates from galv tube, all you have to do is grind off as much as you can but be aware, grinding friction creates heat which smears the galv. You willnever get all the galv off unless you disolve the galv with vinegar. Also, galv steel welding spits and fires back at you, keep your head out of the smoke and crack on. Generally I use Mig but have used 7018 successfully.

Lightly score the line with your cutting wheel. It will bend nicely on that line with a bit of encouragement. Learned that from someone else on YT and it does work.

Lol. Been there done that. I've found that sandwiching the metal to be bent between two 2x4s helps get a little sharper bend.

I welded galv with 6013 and 7018, the latter worked better for me. Problem I had was that it was a hollow structure on the goods, so couldn't get the galv on the inside off. Did that once without a half mask and never again! Man that stuff makes you sick swiftly!

Weld galvanized with 308-16 stainless rod ; use straight polarity : penetration is low but use high enough voltage as required; you can even make a second pass ! No grinding; the straight polarity pushes the zinc away from the weld similar to aluminum welding with AC has a surface cleaning effect: the 308-16 with straight polarity pushes the zinc aside continously allowing the ss to reach the steel and bond. No cleanup necessary; over time the zinc moves to weld, no rust results , no paint required. Try It !

I’d love to try some Cubitron 3 products, but either you have to buy 25 disks at around $7 apiece, or a large number of belts. One belt for my 6 x 48 is close to $100 from MSC. These prices are just too much to just try a product. I would buy a pack of 5 disks.

I can't tell if you were kidding, or being serious at 15:00. is it okay to put a 30 amp breaker on a 120 volt circuit? I am thinking of doing this so my 140 amp 120 volt mig welder won't keep popping the breaker when I am welding at the top end of around 130 to 140 amps. any feedback is appreciated.

Please don't assume being outside and keeping your nose and face out of galvanized welding gas as ok. It should be done outside under a tarp after as much coating removal as possible, then welded with proper ventilation and P.P.E...
