You could have used Biscuits to secure the timber strong jointed, then make an MDF cross lay it and put the cut timber pieces around it , mark where the biscuits can go and number the timber pieces to correspond when clamping them up , that is the PROFESSIONAL way....Regards from Ray in the UK

Hey this is a very simple project that you can get done with a hand saw! Most of my build can be done with simple tools, don’t let that discourage you from trying them!
