Making these tonight! What keeps them from floating on their sides? Would putting a piece of foam on either side of the plexi be better? I see you are catching a ton of fish with them so I guess they work well!!

Do you plan on making a video of you rigging the planer board ? I'd like to see that. I just had my first experience using a planer board out here on the west coast for trout and stuff. I think you need to run a bead or float before the leader to keep the fish out of the boards rear swivel, right ? I'm going to make a few for me and my friends - plexi - and use BALSA wood for the flotation. Make it a bit tougher ..

So the way my rig goes is weight (if i'm using one), a few beads, swivel and then a 4 foot leader or so

If I was using them for that purpose I would be using some lead weight bars to keep them in the water better to handle waves

What makes the board pull out to the side tho?

The line being clipped toward the front of the board pulls it at an angle and away from the boat. Thats why port and starboard boards have to be setup opposite of each other

I did roughly the same but the front of the foam I cut to a 45 degree so it’s close to all manufactured boards. I have even experimented with a flag, it seem to work, after it’s perfected, I will shoot a videos it. Oh lord the hate I will get lol. But the hate does get tiresome. I’m glad I didn’t see any for you.

@@millersmonstrosity3419 I think he means left and right boards. I would have to guess is all about where the eye bolt and snap swivel are mounted.
