Ойын-сауық

Watch the full episode on Spotify - bit.ly/CallHerDaddy
Join Alex in Houston for an exclusive interview with gold medalist Simone Biles. Simone is here to share her side of the story and what really happened at the infamous Tokyo Olympics when she withdrew from the team competition and shocked the world. She opens up about the trauma that led to that decision, what nobody knew was happening behind the scenes, and how she thought her gymnastics career was over. Simone gets real about how the nation’s backlash affected her mentally and what it’s taken to get back into the gym. She also discusses her decision to come forward about the abuse she endured under the former USA Gymnastics physician and how she’s working to heal. Simone talks about her early years in foster care and how being adopted completely changed the trajectory of her life. Then, Alex asks the question we’re all dying to know… Is Simone going to Paris? Finally, Simone gushes about her marriage, responds to Jonathan Owens’ controversial viral interview, and talks about how she’s leaning into WAG life. Get ready to know Simone Biles like never before. Enjoy!

    Dear Simone-having had the “Twisties”, thank you for being so brave. Had them more than 65 years ago-couldn’t even do a simple walkover. But my teacher was an old Vaudeville performer who was knowledgeable in this area. AMERICA WILL NEVER HATE YOU-YOU ARE OUR NATIONAL TREASURE.

    Great interview. It’s mind blowing 🤯 to think she was thinking of twitter when us actual gymnastics fans were thinking of former gymnasts like Sang Lan or Elena Mukhina. She could’ve been seriously hurt. I’m glad she’s in a better mental space now. Wishing her the best. She’ll always be a favorite of mine. Can’t wait to see her live at the Olympic trials!

    The people who knew anything about gymnastics knew what had happened. It's interesting to learn what the lead up had been during warm-ups but that makes sense. I just wish the twisties would have been explained at the time. And now she just explained that it had to be categorized as an injury of some sort so that the lineup could be changed. Some people fortunately understood after the twisties were explained to them but I still know people who refuse to understand the reality of what was going on. Of course the discussion has come up again since the Olympics are coming around again.

    Simone made the best decision at the time to keep herself safe. As for nationalism for the team she was competing for, no duh! Despite the fact she made the best decision for her safety, the media exploited Simone's market for drama. I remember outlets questioning her prowess to compete for "USA." Meanwhile, their channels NEEDED her, a black woman breaking records, to help their channels get viewers. Point blank, Simone is an industry who created a market for those complaining about herself. Give her all the time and space.

    I know it's not the same but I had vertigo for the first time a couple months ago and just the sheer amount of anxiety that came with my body and brain not being able to regulate and work properly was unbearable. I could barely walk at some points and its like, come on brain, it's not that hard, just walk, but nothing was working the way it was supposed to. I can't even imagine doing something as difficult and dangerous as Simone does while feeling like I can't figure out where I am in space.

    @mercuryfever39214 күн бұрын

    She shouldn't regret anything. She knew something was wrong, She used her voice and said I can't do this anymore and this is what's happening. For the first time she was able to use her voice and advocate for herself and say "I am not on my game, I'm not mentally where I need to be. Then she still showed up for her teammates but in a different way. She was the biggest cheerleader. She was there supporting them. She has nothing to feel guilty about. When that happened I felt it was a testament to her physical conditioning that she was able to land on her feet. I felt so happy that she was able to have the freedom to say, I need to stop. I guarantee you that prior to that, she wouldn't have had that freedom. People did the same thing to Mikeala Shiffrin when she kept skiing out of her races in Beijing. They blamed her for the camera being on her acting like she wanted all that attention on her when she was sitting on the side of the course. These athletes might do things that are out of this world but they are human.

    The way she described that was confusing because Jordan had already vaulted. I think maybe she meant that if she had tried to force the more difficult vault then she could have gotten hurt and yet that score would have had to have counted. What I was thinking that she meant even though she referred to vault was that if she tried to continue and compete any other event she would have risked injury - with a low score that would have to count. Maybe that was a response to people saying that she shouldn't have withdrawn but if she wouldn't have withdrawn they couldn't have put Jordan in any of the other lineups. Maybe?

    It makes more sense now, but the thing that I think made America go like huh.....is the name of it.. the twisties.. lol change the name of this... it sounds like something you do while you are out playing duck duck goose and you ran around in circles too much as a kid...and fell down because you got the twisties... so when something that sounds so juvenile wrecks a world class gymnast's trajectory at the Olympics... it sounds like ok valley girl. she got the twisties.. I think America just thought it was like a joke...it is the name.. and when the announcers are trying to explain it (and they can't) and you have ms biles still being extremely active on the side lines cheering on her team, it looks bad.. definitely. I would actually agree if she actually wanted to leave the stage.. but it seems like she wasn't allowed.

    Simone had said she was experiencing the twisties WEEKS leading up to the olympics. But she refused to step down and give up her spot to another athlete who could have performed better (for the team). Why? ENDORSEMENT MONEY. She put her own monetary benefit over the team. And now to make it seem like she's the victim is laughable. Let's keep it real this was all about her endorsements and that Wheaties box cover. I dont blame her for having the twisties. But i blame her for not removing herself from the Olympics team. She put herself and her endorsements over the team. No one should feel sorry for her.
