Sancho is on £350k per week and he's won "0".
Critising City for rewarding Foden whilst supporting Liverpool for rewarding Salah who had to put a gun to their heads to get a good deal. It’s funny how the anti city narrative overrides normal common sense.

On a 6 year contract, that's around 60 million in wages. It'll take that much (maybe more) to replace Foden if he decides to leave. So, economically, it's a sound decision for Man City. And Foden also benefits. Now, is 200 000 a week to much for a player? Well, that's a bigger question that shouldn't centre around Foden. PS, I'm a Liverpool fan. So no Man City/Foden bias.

Not everyone can be an athlete and have this kinda discipline. The kind of commitment they have shown at this young age.

Weird how they are arguing that paying players what they are worth (the value they bring in ) is bad and not that other professions need to get on board and stop exploiting the labor of their workers and pay them appropriately for the value they bring in. Some people just don't get it. Foden is at a top club and definitely deserves to be at a top club. City has the second lowest revenue to wage bill ratio of any big 6 club(62%). What relevance does Foden's wages have to the wages a bottom half PL club who are spending most of their revenue on wages? It's on those clubs to manage their own budget according to their own revenues. Who is as good as Foden at any of those clubs to justify being on the same money anyway? Even if they did have any, the choice is simple offer what you can while they are there, and get the maximum value when it comes to sell them to a bigger club. It's ALWAYS worked like this. Some of the arguments I'm reading are naive or just plainly make no sense.

wasn't a problem when simon earned that kind of money and wouldn't be a problem if it was his cronies earning that kind of dough in his industry or industries that he deems fit.
A very simply equation. Players salaries are a huge percentage of the clubs outgoings. The more money poured into the game, the more they will get paid. Short career? Yes it is a relatively short career and more prone to an early finish due to injuries etc. and should take into account that only the top players are on this incredible salary, go down a division or two and you have players earning substantially less. As for Foden, yes the money makes sense from Citys perspective.
Top players get more money because the club's can afford it. If the players weren't getting improved payment that money would go straight to the owners pockets off of the back of those players. Simon need to understand that football exists and a Socialist Utopia doesn't. Many hedge fund managers, investors, traders, musicians, CEO's make way more than footballs and they never sweat a second.

Trevor Sinclair - Foden Is Future Ballon d'Or Winner!! 😂😂

Bang on the money Simon.
Saying it’s a short career is only relevant if being a footballer excludes you from working any other job after it. It doesn’t.
If that's what the club offer them good luck to him for taking it. But it doesn't need publicising. But we don't need the head of the Manchester City PR department to tell us all about it. Trevor Sinclair really is unnecessary.
Yeah Simon is spot on lol
I'm no spring chicken and all of my various career paths so far have all been shorter than a footballer's career!
he’s never nailed down a starting position, I’m still not even sure if we know his best position, I guess it’s best to lock him in based on his potential, but if he doesn’t become a starter in the next couple of years how can you say he’s worth that money?

Lol, don't comment on topics you don't have knowledge about. He literally started more matches than Sterling, Grealish, Mahrez, Jesus, Gundogan, Walker, Stones and more last season. Played more minutes too. He isn't supposed to start every game of the season.

@@kattphatt Sterling and Jesus were sold so… you also ignored most of what I said, my point is by the age of 22 shouldn’t we know his position by now? how is he going to kick on when he’s moved about so often? he’s on over 200k and isn’t guaranteed to start is the facts which is kinda crazy but ur entitled to be wrong

@@diskid3644 he has won back 2 back PLs and YPOTY B2B too, one station playing LW another playing LW and False 9. He is played where the best league manager knows he will do well, he is highly adaptable and intelligent. @@russellward4624 ??? Simon is more upset than me, good luck to them, I just think what someone earns should be private unless they make it public knowledge.
its basically obscene for him and any other footballer to be getting even 50grand a week thats more than double the average annual wage. We are conned by sky and the media into thinking the premier league needs to buy all these superstars but its really not true fans love their club the players come and go but love of the club stays if the premier league was made up of teams of lads from the local pub FC team stadiums would still be full as it would be an even playing field and add even more excitement and randomness

Average working person salary = £30,000 a year. Foden = £30,000 a week. He will earn in ONE year, what it takes me 52 years to earn!
Not fodens fault but agree with Simons assessment people are really struggling just to live a basic decent existence. But how do you stop the details being released ?
Simon is right!
Let's face it, If Crystal Palace was turning over 600m+ in revenue whilst he was chairman, his views on rich clubs would be far different than his deep-rooted perceptions from the pre-Sky pre-commercialisation era. Player inflation scales with club revenue. If Foden was at Burnley he'd be getting peanuts but he's not. I agree there needs to be a clamp down on transfer fees and wages but realistically you need all the major leagues to prescribe to the same set rules or you'll get bent over.
He’s played 171 games by the time he retires he will play 800-900 games incredible talent
Jim White asking what other industry would do this. It’s football. Football is like no other industry and we’ve known that for years and years. This just seems to be a debate for debates sake. Footballers get paid over £200k a week all over the world. It’s just the way football is
