Boehly took over during a different era in PL. I’m not making excuses for him but it’s harsh to compare him to Abramovich just yet. Abramovich took over with very little financial competition around him and used that to build Chelsea. Chelsea fans do need to be more patient this time around.

I mean everything has got significantly worse at Chelsea since abramovich was forced to sell to boehly and co So it’s understandable.

I'm a Chelsea fan since 1997, and by far our fans are the most spoilt clowns on this planet (the ones that only remember success). The Chelsea fan channels are a joke, and just show the whole world the types of weird spoilt fans we have (bar nini fc). Roman was great, but, Roman will also be the reason why we get sanctioned again, even if that happens, as a fan, I can be patient, as Todd has shown us the ambitions already. But, these fans, addicted to internet pron with dopamine receptors fried can't handle a little patience so the players can mature, the team gets gelled, and we slowly start becoming a force again. This can all happen by next season, but, nope, they want Poch out so we can go through this whole process again for a 3rd time and the fan channels can have more things to complain to get the clicks. Deep down, most the fan channels love this, the negativity has got them views like never before, they want it to continue like it did at Arsenal (and still is tbh).

​@@Skutnuto be fair, we were better from 96-03 than we have been since the end of Tuchel's spell. The late nineties are when I started watching as a toddler. We throw money around and get nowhere with it now. And now we're getting rid of (or considering getting rid of) good players and homegrown talents just to fund the next pace-abusing "wonderkid" who can't do the fundamentals properly so we can perpetuate the cycle of mediocrity under possession coaches. I'd give my right arm for a top four finish with a coach who had a year of Championship experience under his belt, a bunch of kids who'd only played in the Championship or Eredivisie, and a transfer ban hanging over us again. I'm almost glad Vialli isn't around to see how his and Gullit's great work getting us to the point of investment has been thrown away. I agree with wanting to give players time to gel, but considering how Lampard was canned because he was a few points off the top four, with a ton of new players to blood in, just six weeks after an 18 game unbeaten run... apparently we don't do that here. So I don't think we should give more grace to a more experienced coach, or such expensive players that are robbing minutes from Cobham players.

Literally been 9 months since we gutted the squad bought in an almost new starting 11 (10/11 starting 11 for most the season have not played together before with the one constant being a 40 year old silva from the old Chelsea), throw in one of the worst injury record in the PL and we still manage to get to a cup final in Poch's first season, I do not remember Ranieri getting to a final back in 03/04 when he had something similar, but, not as big of a change to deal with. Stop with this spoiled BS, I'm calling cap on you being a fan since the 80s, if you can't see what's happening in front of your eyes and compare and contrast from the past, then I don't know what to say, this is irl football, not football manager or Fifa where you can press the skip button to escape the pain. Old Chelsea is gone, fans have still not got over that, just look at the squad to understand why the old Chelsea is gone. Which other club in the top 5 leagues in Europa in the last 40 years has had the level of change we had to go through and the threat of going out of existence 24 months ago, only for the manager to carry on like nothing happened? This has never happened in top flight football, so the only thing to compare against is the old chelsea, which is done. Patience has not run out with match going fans, it has with the youtubers and the younger fans who follow these youtubers at the ground, that is obvious to see when I go to matches, especially against Leicester, the casual fans that go for cup matches, were booing like mad because of some silly takes some youtubers have on Poch. If you compare Roman Abramovich strategy when he first came to Todd's its night and day, I'm not a Chelsea fan but both spent crazy amounts, but this American guy is clueless, Arsene Wenger always said you never buy more than 3 first team players at a time. Simon needs to his homework and have a look at the other club that Boely is involved with: Strasbourg. Their fans are rightly kicking off under Boely’s stewardship and are fighting a relegation battle after a run of appalling results. If it wasn’t for Cole Palmer Chelsea would be in a relegation battle too, so with all due respect the fans are entitled to voice their frustrations. They and their families were there with Chelsea long before Boely and they will be there long after he’s gone. Owners like Simon just want to take all the praise and prestige of owning a club but none of the flack and responsibility when things aren’t going their way.

It was the stripping out of the Club World Champions with no rhyme or reason and then the Owner traipsing around the world buying players when not knowing anything about football!

So we are not allowed to voice opinions on the owners. Who took over while we was club world cup winners. Now we are a club that sits mid table for two seasons. We are unhappy that we spent a billion pound on all young players that have no experience in the Premier league. Now we are looking like we are going to get a points deduction next season. This is one of the most pathetic defenses of the Clearlake ownership I've heard made to date. Simon should be, he won't be, but should be embarrassed about what a horrible case he attempts to make for Todd Boehly. First off, it's not just Boehly - it is Boehly, Eghbali, Feliciano, Walters and Wyss. The big 3 though, Eghbali/Feliciano from Clearlake and Boehly with this 15% share. Now, lets start with Boehly being so smart because he's a billionaire. Well, running a football club and playing with numbers are different. If Boehly and Eghbali (lets call them EgBoehly) are so intelligent, because they're rich, how come they didn't have the common sense to have anyone appointed prior to takeover? Furthermore, how come they didn't have the common sense to know that it probably wouldn't be a good idea to literally appoint themselves as flipping Sporting Directors and heads of recruitment for Chelsea - to work in domestic and foreign markets without ever having any experience at all with football? How could anyone be so stupid to think that's a good idea? How could anyone be so arrogant to think they can go into a completely different industry with absolutely no experience and think they can function at even a poor level, let alone a disastrous level? I think it's utterly foolish and I don't know how anyone can make a case it was anything other than foolish. As for Simon's distain for the Chelsea Supporters Trust, CST, he is completely disingenuous when he asks rhetorically about how it's "constructive to put clowns on badges, indicating they're clowns and then complain everyone is calling them a laughing stock". This is a case of either utter ignorance by Simon or utter spin job which would be deliberate and then begs questions as to what is the motivation to spin something like this. I'll explain as it's quite simple. Chelsea fans were not suddenly complaining that they're considered a laughing stock after they released the ClownLake 3 ring circus stickers. Chelsea fans put those stickers out depicting the Circus because ever since the new owners have come in, they've conducted themselves and the club as a Circus and have been a joke and laughing stock since these owners came into the club. That's why the CST said that and that is why they are expressing the obvious facts that the owners have made a mockery of their club. It didn't just happen 2 weeks ago Simon. This is quite astonishing that Simon can't figure this out - which leads one to consider Simon is deliberately covering for ClearLake and EgBoehly. This is simply disingenuous. Even White called Simon out on his hypocrisy of calling out everyone except owners and Simon's only defense is calling out Moshiri, an owner who's on his way out of the League after agreeing to sell all his shares, is a weak yelp of a response to his obvious hypocrisy that White even nailed him on to which Simon had to give the old arms up "fair enough" which completely squashed his entire argument, which circles us back to he defends owners. No defense there for Simon. Simon then continues to say the obvious, that you can't just change the owners every 5 minutes when the actually facts are that the Chelsea fans want to change their insane model of buying under 23 year old kids, scouting them using AI software, signing players to 8 year contracts - all with the motivations to sell them on for profit in the future rather than fielding a winning club on the pitch. That is what fans want changed and the calls for Clearlake out is specifically because they REFUSE to change their idiotic model that's never been done in football before. Once again, Simon skipped over this completely legitimate argument made by CST and the majority of rational, logical Chelsea supporters. Simon also needs some context in regards to just how much money Chelsea's spent. Over 1 billion pounds spent, in less than 2 years, literally 3 transfer windows (they didn't spent this past January). Man United, spent over 1 billion pounds in 10 years! There is no comparison, it is simply unprecedented what Chelsea has done and when you look at the players they splurged it on, it really does look like a world class troll job by Clearlake. Chelsea fans have been patient, as they've watched the circus off and on the pitch for 2 seasons, setting and equaling age old records of incompetence on the pitch, some being century old record lows - and the patience has turned down a cul de sac in terms of the club spent that much money leaving them on thin ice with regards to FFP and PSR rules, which limits what they can now do financially to improve. This is what the patience Simon preaches has allowed to happen. Simon continues his theatrical tirade claiming Chelsa almost lost their team 2 years ago, as if EgBhoely/Feliciano saved them which is utterly laughable when there were multiple parties bidding for the club. There was never any legitimate concerns Chelsea would have disappeared as a functioning football club and even Simon himself years ago was saying precisely that for those that are not aware. However, to call former owner Roman Abramovich a "cohort of a war criminal" is just next level dishonesty as Abramovich had nothing to do with a political decision by Russia to initiate their SMO into the Donbass and would have had absolutely no influence to either push for or try and stop such a decision by the Russian Federal Council and the State Duma. This is the most slanderous of statements he made in what looks to be the most dishonest defense of Clearlake in that pathetic scrap they're calling a write up and this embarrassing commentary. Of course the fans would celebrate an owner, who was a football fan, Chelsea fan, poured everything he had into the club and celebrated the most successful 2 decades in English football, putting Chelsea up there with the biggest clubs in European football. Why wouldn't the Chelsea fans celebrate such historic achievements by their former owner, despite how he made his money and any controversy on how he conducted business at Chelsea or otherwise. Is anyone surprised the fans supported him and continue to do so, especially in the face of the disaster that has transpired since? Come on, come back to planet earth Simon. The only thing truthful and correct out of Simon's mouth was when he said at 3:00, "The jeopardy of sport also includes the jeopardy of a bad owner". He was bang on here and Chelsea ran into what is appearing to be among the very worst owners football has seen.

i'm a chelsea fan and i 100% agree. our fanbase haven't gotten over the Roman era. We were spoilt but now we have new owners with a different agenda. Roman was a chelsea fan, Bohely is and investment bank. We're starting a new path. have patience. i can understand why chelsea fans are seen as incredibly annoying.

Simon is so right! As a Chelsea fan, our position in the table hurts but we profit nothing from ridiculing our own owners. Abramovich did so much for us but the club was declining long before he went. The reason why most fans can't see it, it's because of the champions League that cover the cracks. Todd and his team are learning but I see them caring so much about this club. We loved him when he had meals in spain...we loved him when he fought for someone majority of fams wanted (enzo)...we loved how he fought for Caicedo and Lavia...but just because it is taking time to jell, the fans think they have a right to clown them. The CST behaved so immaturely. We must be patient. I see great signs for the future. Support the team, don't start destroying the very thing you are trying to build. That fire sale of players won't happen again in many years at Chelsea and so don't expect the owners to change their models and plans just because you want Jose. I think Todd is out of his depth at Chelsea and underestimated the challenge. The strategy or lack thereof seems to be the real issue at Chelsea. Todd must be feeling it from all sides, because investors will certainly be asking what the hell is going on with all the money that has been spent. If Chelsea do not turn things around in the next 2-3 years we may see some drastic changes at the club and a real tightening of the belt. Fans will not like that either.

I’m a chelsea fan as well, the owner talk is total nonsense tbh, end of the day we lost our old owner and we weren’t Exaclty looking amazing when he departed got the ucl but papered over a lot of cracks. I don’t blame owners at all they spent money and poch hasn’t got the best out of a lot of them yet

I see where Simon is coming from. Obviously the owners made mistakes and big ones, but for the CST to come out and just create more toxicity and instability does not help.
