I’m a United fan; i think Klopp is an outstanding manager and United would have snapped him up easily if we had the chance. He’s not won as much as some of the media are trying to make out, so you have to own that, but i dont see a lot of point in trying to diminish his status in the PL as a great. Top top manager, playing excellent football and would be adored by any fan base in the PL

@pip1723 6th is where Liverpool finished last season before Man utd knocked us out of fa cup this season. Now we Liverpool no manager, salah, dias all want out and van dijk rapidly ageing. I'm a Liverpool fan btw but our club is in a crisis right now. 1 title in 9 years is a factual statement. We should have won more in that time, but we always try make ourselves sound like a bigger club than man utd, but we know we are going back to the bad old days. We won't win another league in god knows how many years now. I blame klopp as he couldn't handle the pressure and jumped off our sinking ship once he knew our team could no longer rely on dodgy var decisions to get us fluky wins each week. Goldstein is right we were lucky to win even 1 title in 9 years.

Klopp can be a legend for Liverpool football club and their fans but no chance for the whole EPL and worldwide football fans.

What makes me laugh is what’s everyone else’s club won during Klopps time here? The only club to have done better are currently being investigated. If it weren’t for Klopps Liverpool the league would have been a mockery. For what Klopp has been up against, how he’s managed that, I do think Klopp is a legend and there’s not one fan who wouldn’t want him as there manager including Goldstein.

I’m not even a Liverpool fan and listening to Goldstein reduce every argument to a “yes or no” without anyone being able to provide context is the laziest, most pathetic attempt at journalism. Utter garbage.

Liverpool can only employ managers with four-letter names, Arsenal can only employ managers whose name starts the same as Arsenal, and Man United can only employ managers whose name describe their finishing place in the league. 😁

Prior to that though with the kind of backing Klopp has had, Wenger won more titles. To put it in better perspective, from year 0 to 9, Klopp won one title. From year 0 to 9, Wenger won 3. He got moved out of his legendary home stadium while Klopp got to enjoy Anfield his entire tenure. Context is everything!

2 UCLs in 25 years at Man Utd, people seem to forget English clubs were banned from European football 1985-1990 so it is not 25 years. Post 1990, all English clubs struggled in European competition for years due to the ban. Fergie also won a Cup Winners' Cup which used to be a good trophy back in the 80/90s but defunct now.

Personally i think he is a legend for what he has brought to the Premier League and club. Legends dont have to be purely defined as who has won the most. Djimi Traore is a UCL winner and part of a legendary comeback. But in no stretch of the imagination is he a legend compared to the list of greats that never won it. People can banter and define their own meaning of Legend. But he has won everything there is to win. He took a team that were just big in name, fanbase and history but were nowhere near competitive. He won the league with 7 games spare. 82 points before we went into lockdown (City ended the season with 81!). 2nd place isnt the goal but it is far from failure too. He turned good players into world class. Kept Liverpool competitive for the most part. We are now a club that is in the conversation for titles. Its just unfortunate he came against the greatest coach to do it and greatest squad and owners in Man City. Its like competing agains Usain Bolt in his prime!
