Great point. These clubs are looking for ways to increase their revenues to allow for more leeway with FFP regulations and subsequently more spending power. You're absolutely correct to make that connection and also correct that nobody else is talking about it.

How can it work if your economic model is to constantly get more or "grow"????? It means you have to shrink something else because it doesnt come from nowhere. e.g you work more for less so someone else can work less for more. The solution to "inflation" is EVERYONE ask for more money....which makes even more debt.......which makes even more inflation.......thats fine if you're in the business of making "money" out of other peoples struggles and debts which you're literally making even worse ON PURPOSE to make even more money???? Someone at "THE BANK OF ENGLAND" decided to print BILLIONS of quids at your expense because its YOU who will be paying for that, yet act like they didnt realise all these debts and everything that comes with it will happen....... thats what the debt is, "cost of making things up crisis"... e.g paying BILLIONS for pieces of plastic for peoples faces or experimental injections or bombs that you can never use because ...they'd obliterate everything and make the entire thing pointless.......

@gaiustesla9324 This rant might confuse some people into thinking it's intelligent. You haven't mentioned a single fundamental that drives the reality... The entire system is 'made up' if you go down this rabbit hole.

@@backupdancer3720 Yeah i have.....thats exactly what im mentioning. However its not "sold" to people like its totally made up is it? Its also not a "choice", YOU have to pay for debts that SOMEONE ELSE YOU DONT EVEN KNOW made up. Also an UNPAYABLE AMOUNT into the trillions, pretty much all the "richest" countries are in unpayable amounts of debt. 1 trillion seconds is 32'000 years and the uk is in around 5 TRILLION debt, america is in about 30 trillion.........you're being robbed with deceptive "rules". AND who is this OWED TOO?????????? For example, everyone knows you CANNOT make 1 piece of gold into 2 EQUALLY weighted pieces of gold as the original. Yet we have a system where someone prints out a rectangle and says you owe me for that though, asking for more rectangles back than there has been printed....... e.g making 1 pound into 2 pounds...... But the value shrinks by doing it, so it looks like 2 but it isnt. This is the difference between a system backed by logic and something tangible and a fiat system of belief. There is a difference between being "made up" to make sense of things and to "make something up" to deceive and control people. You know like we can look around at reality and propose ideas for what it might be or we could just say a magical man in the sky magic'd it all up..... Now instead of simply claiming its not intelligent and i didnt mention anything ...when i did, how about you take your own advice and actually explain something too? Which you're not going to do.

@@backupdancer3720 I think people understand that we live in a debt-based monetary system, which operates as nothing more than usury, ultimately. Not everyone can articulate their frustrations well in this regard, but at least they smell a rat. What's your job, trying to make people feel stupid for not being able to articulate their frustrations clearly enough? It's hardly as though you offer any clarity or insight into anything yourself.

@backupdancer3720 I see you have entered the rabbit hole... TalkSport is a place of levity, and the subject discussed in this video had little to do with government monetary policy, quantitative easing or FIAT currency... Tottenham Hotspur is a UK-based business that chose to increase its gearing with debt provided by two American banks and HSBC... There is no usury...there is simple secured debt that needs to serviced by income generated by Spurs... What logical Spurs fan looks at a brand new stadium, sees the team out of Europe, and remains confused that the income must be generated elsewhere..? The original comment was a rant that overlooked any fundamental factors impacting Spurs' revenue targets... Your comment is an unnecessary addition to that comment... Lastly, the financial world runs on cash and trust - the word 'credit' literally comes from the Latin word 'credo'...which means 'I trust'...

@@backupdancer3720 All the debt is interlinked....since everyone is borrowing from all over the place. you're acting like we live in a test tube, well considering the experiments that are going on maybe we are! You say people "trust" it but...they have no choice, people are being used as backing for this currency or their efforts and possessions are and when someone can't pay it, which by design they wont be able too, they can "legally" take your stuff or put you in debt or jail to "pay" for it. The point is having continuous growth is a sham, you're essentially being used to "even up the book" that aren't and can't be evened with this system. We cannot pay back trillions in debt considering that has interest on it which makes you thousands of pounds in more debt every second. Of course we could just stop doing that just as easily as we made it up.

The government doesn't print any money. Money is printed by banks which are private corporations, not government owned. If government printed its own money then it would not need to borrow money from a central bank or other financial organisations and then we would not have an astronomical national debt! Theoretically, a government could issue its own currency, print its own money and make taxation a thing of the past. If only! Governments spend tax payers' money for general running of the country and then borrow from central banks, pension funds and insurance companies, etc, when they overspend.

I think Simon Jordan spends much of his spare time on some computer Thesaurus software package in a vain attempt to appear intellectual, then gives the game away when, later in the debate, he can't find the correct word (he was probably looking for 'static' but came up with 'statued').

Very true. He does this all the time, trying so hard to sound clever that he drops constant malapropisms (such as the example you just gave), uses words out of context regularly and also makes words up which don't exist (consequenced springs immediately to mind, although that is not the only example).
