I feel embarrassed for those who went out and protested the SuperLeague and basically did FIFA/UEFAs bidding. Honestly having seen all the BS corruption by UEFA and FIFA, I hope the SuperLeague does get the verdict in their favor and makes UEFA scramble.

It will probably be the biggest decision for football since bosman. The december decision will not be binding but it will be ratified in march. This could be huge.

I reckon it never went away it just got put on hold , no way are these new investors buying up premium football clubs all over Europe for any other reason,

I know ESL will come back with more rules to make it as fair tournament with promotion and relegation that was only reason fans didn't like about it.

Wasn't the only thing. It either gets rid of the premier league or there's 100 matches a season. Teams in the ESL would then start treating the Premier league like the carling Cup. It would completely destroy football.

If they spin it as a chance to break fifa and uefas grip on football people might even go for it

There will be some sort of settlement where the champions league basically becomes the super league anyway and every year little by little they will add things to the champions league that the super league clubs wanted that’s why they are doing the Swiss model of the champions league in 2024/25

Money finds a way. Honestly, I didn’t see the issue with a Super League the issue was in its implementation. They need to actually make competition forefront, none of this legacy nonsense. Put in actual rules that make sense and why not? It’s not like UEFA is clean, and I’m sure a lot of people had issue with the idea of the Prem as well.

@@bentooth1585 fair enough. I’m not advocating, but there is a lot wrong with UEFA IMO. I think i see ESL as replacing Champions league, and they are certainly putting too many teams in it.

I don't think it will happen unless they scrap the champion league and people won't go for that.

The ESL would get so boring as the level of quality would be too repetitive. No fairy tale stories written .

With Simon being an ex owner he would see nothing in a super League . I've no doubt in years to come it might probably happen . I hope not football has already changed and with the money coming in and every one wanting a piece of it the game is in danger of sold to billionaires who have no experience of football . because they can .

Yes I agree with you and I'm American. The way we do things is fine for us because it's always been this way and we're used to it. But Europe does it a different way and that way should always stand. Heritage is all important.

Football is the most popular and best run sport in the world.... Why change something that is clearly working

Hasn't the prem become the super league! We have all the best teams, the only ones I would add are PSG and Madrid the rest are all in trouble.

Like it or not, FIFA under Sepp Blatter and to a lesser extent UEFA did more for the growing of the sport internationally than the EPL or La Liga. People watch the EPL because it has the greatest collection of International players and this implies FIFA has done the job developing football in countries where they don't have the money England has. The Super League demonstrated that you CANNOT and SHOULD NOT TRUST clubs with the destiny of Football. UEFA and FIFA have at least their own agenda and you have to keep it that way. I would not trust Florentina Perez and the Glazer to make a decision for the greater good of football, they have clearly indicated that their goal is to take the money out of the smaller clubs, leagues and therefore countries that actually produce the all time great internationals. Way to kill the sport in the womb. Did you take a look at the state of Spanish football right now? Their team is boring as, even a much older Croatia is more exciting to watch. Ain't France and Portugal exciting to watch? Serbia was pretty competitive too, the Dutch are still there. All I can see is that Italy, Germany, Spain are out of the World Cup and clearly the so called smaller Nations of football are delivering the goods. We will see on Saturday whether England has got the goods at long last but let me remind you England has been literally copying the French development centre of Clairefontaine for years now, I don't even know why the FRR invited them and gave them access to our structures, bureaucrats corruption probably and France is not short of corrupt bureaucrats unfortunately. So when it comes to creating and nurturing the World Best Footballers, I am sorry but the effort never came from Nations like England. If anything UEFA has always favoured the Top Nations, they have never really rewarded Nations that give us the best footballers in the World. I mean look at Croatia with what they have, what they achieve, if that's not punching above your weight... Since 1998, I don't think they have missed a World Cup and they have always been a serious contender. Smaller Leagues are the ones who make UEFA and FIFA and every top European Leagues look good. Players are the product. Smaller Leagues produce the all time best players, it is a fact, Mbappé, Haaland, Mané, Ronaldo, Benzema, Courtois, Modric, Lewandowski, De Bruyne. Hazard... and now Ramos, Fernandez, Vlahovic, de Jong, Leao, Davies... England never produced exciting players outside Gerard. Now we hear Bellingham is the next big thing, that would be new.

It might be back but can’t see any English teams ever being involved. The PL is the strongest and richest in the world, it would be foolish for any team to join and risk loosing revenue that they are guaranteed in the PL. It only benefits the failing European leagues.

There isn’t any money in Italy, Spain or France. All the money is in England which is why I don’t see the FA letting it happen. I guess we will see though.

Yes. Bradford City in league 2 get a bigger crowd in than Juventus. These other leagues will die soon without ESL or something similar. When EFL championship teams can offer players more money than Champions League teams something has to eventually change.

Simon Jordan is right on a lot of things but here he’s off the mark by a mile and have a strange attachment to it.

The Super league will be back. It is the league which can justify the wages. The first 1 million GBP per week player is almost there, at the point it will break the "pyramid " as the squad wage packet of a top club will start to approach 250 to 500 million per year. At that point you need higher income streams

No club has officialy left yet because of the contract. Around march or april there will be a court and they will accept the super league which will run at the same time as the ucl. Like the european cup was still running the same time the champions league was created.

100% it's coming and they will get European super League
