Spent a billion replacing a Champions League winning squad with a load of kids. Preached long term project and patience while going through 5 managers in 2 years. Had to sell Cobham and the hotels "to themselves", and will continue to sell our best homegrown players to make up for their spending spree, while continuing to sign Brazilian 16 year olds. Now they sack a manager who had gotten the process on track. They want to buy and sell whoever they want with a timid Championship manager who goes along with whatever they want and has no input outside of team selection. These owners are digging their own graves.

This whole process is just the Americanization of the club. They are moving to a coach/GM structure. It seems that they are looking to have a philosophy that carries over year after year, no matter the manager. Gone will be the days of new managers coming in and playing a new system requiring new players to fit that manager. They will hire a coach to play the system the club has built. No clue if it will work but you can see what they are trying to do.

Yes, loyalty is pretty much dead. But I think if you get promoted with a team who gave you a big chance (potentially your first job) you owe them at least one season in the new league. Kieran McKenna was nobody, and Ipswich took a punt on him. He should at least give them a season. He’ll get a full season in the PL thanks to the credit built up, and even if they get relegated, he’ll have the experience then.

Some Chelsea fans will never stop complaining until Chelsea win trophies: something Pochettino should have done this season. RA came into the Premier League and made 16 signings within 12 months; the fans cheered and pundits were too stunned to criticise it... Most of those signings were younger with potential: Duff, Joe Cole, Geremi, Robben, Cech, Glen Johnson, Bridge etc. RA recognised he needed the best manager (manager not coach) and signed Jose Mourinho, who recommended Drogba and, a year later, Essien. Clearlake came into a more competitive Premier League league, with a City team more dominant than any team before them... Clearlake were stung by letting the manager sign players: Tuchel signed Sterling, Koulibaly and Fofana on big salaries, before Boehly hired directors who changed the policy and signed multiple young players. Since 2010, RA's Chelsea were already signing young players that managers refused to play: they lost KDB, Lukaku, Salah, Ake and others... Clearlake are refusing to give managers the 100% control of transfers; something RA also refused to do for multiple managers.

Simon's defense of why he's defending Boehly like he's his lawyer is ostensibly because he's sat in a "board room" and nobody else knows what they're talking about. We've heard all of his flexible defenses and reasonings for months now and it is Olympic mental gymnastics. So Boehly and Eghbali appointing themselves as Sporting Directors isn't a legit criticism, or having 2 co sporting directors, or messing up paperwork for transfers (Ziyech) messing up Release clauses with clear protocols on how to trigger (Olise) or being threatened by PSG for shady transfer tactics (Sporting Lisbon purchase tied to Ugarte) or using an AI scouting Model for everything they do, an U25 year old project in a men's league, loans that blow up constantly, dismantling a clubs standards and reputation, sacking each and everyone down to groundsmen, sons and tea lady, sacking an entire medical department, constant interference in the coaching jobs, constantly involved on the training grounds, dictating and micromanaging the squad, selling players their own coach wants to keep, a bench depth of 18 year olds, buying broken players, spending billions, long term contracts that have forced the club into selling assets such as hotels and training grounds to balance books along with all academy graduates despite how key they've been for the coach. A fan who notices these things "doesn't know squat" though as they've never sat in a board room like Simon has therefore Simon is not defending the Boehly, who by the way, is a 13% owner and not really in control of the club the way Clearlake, Eghbali and Feliciano are. Simon is absolutely compromised because I don't think he's stupid. By the way, a few weeks ago Simon was arguing with Souness or Murphy and said he "refused to believe that Pochettino didn't have a say in player recruitment" as he used that "belief" or refusal to believe as the fundamental point in another argument he was having defending the insanity of Chelsea's owners. Now it's "what's wrong with having a coach "coach'?. How ironic, as this is what Tuchel wanted to do and was sacked ostensibly because he didn't want to be part of recruitment. Simon is all over the place with his mental gymnastics and is really working his brain to come up with these elaborate and fantastic defenses of a clear and obvious case of arrogance and incompetence in the new regime at Chelsea.

The Ipswich manager is unproven in such an high profile job we need to stick with ETH we need to stop changing managers and look at the bigger picture stop trying the quick fix way . How bad was Fergi in his early years FA Cup win away from being sacked . I am am not a 90s fan I started the suffering 1976 but I still love the club

Simon thinks an owner who is a businessman and knows nothing about football, should be allowed to spend a billion, on players he's probably never seen play, then bring in a manager and expect them to mould a bunch of individuals into a team ? 🙄

Simon’s another one that doesn’t watch football from different tiers and leagues. He doesn’t sound like he understands the game either.
