Great show guys. Previously used the R11S and when the SIM came out, the feedback was extremely positive. I tested it and loved it. I had a unique shaft in the R11S and moved it to the SIM, end result great combo. Within a couple of months, I had to have the SIM 3-wood. I had to locate and purchase a used SIM 3-wood as Taylormade moved on. After using the 3-wood for a couple of rounds, i then modified it but using the SIM Driver shaft, I carry both still today. I really know why Ian whispers to that driver...it is the best.

Now that we're later in the year, I can comment on one thing the stealth 2 really struggles with. I work in a golf store and I've had to send about 2 stealth 2 drivers per week back for warranty because either the face pops off, the crown pops off, or the sole bit breaks. Like SO many more stealth 2's than anything else gets sent back. It's a great performing driver, it just falls apart.

This has to be one major advantage callaway has in the used market. Public just doesn’t trust durability of carbon face and being honest I think the real reason that Taylormade switched isn’t performance based but that they knew once manufacturing was nailed down carbon is probably cheaper than titanium to manufacture.

This might be the best video I've seen you guys do. Amazing to see how things change through the years head to head. Might make me question changing WITB but really helps reinforce making smart, educated changes versus changing for the new shiny toy. Another reason to get fit - maybe WITB already working great and just needs a few tweaks. Can't wait for the other brands through the years but happy you started with TM!

Especially because second-hand clubs are so accessible nowadays. Nearly every club just one model/2 years old is half the price of a new one and you can usually get length, lie, and grip modifications for cheap too when you purchase them online.

I'd love to see the Mizuno heads tested. A bit like the Titleist story, they have been on a journey, ST190/200/220 & now 230. One of them won the bracket so it would be intriguing to see if the newer ones are even better. I play the 230 and have played all the others. Personal experience says the 230 has definitely upped the ball speed. No data to back that up but on course is a positive. Keep up the good work guys, long time follower, my source for everything technical in equipment. Your UK partner at Precision golf is also putting out good interesting content, very different to yours but interesting.

Sim… I feel like all of the drivers have gotten better with the high toe miss… but the original Sim driver had that big 380. Holy crap ball in it once in a while that you just don’t get with the more forgiving drivers.

Actually I'd be interested to see the growth of Callaway's AI jailbreak evolvement over the last few iterations of drivers. To see if any of this and where they've tried to change how it pushes the head performance wise. Just like Sim2 seems like it tried to push for more spin to reduce the low spin knucklers that Sim1 brought.

I had an OG SIM with an Oban Kiyoshi White on it, and it was a weapon. TSi3 came out, and I got that, but I never got the same feel of that SIM. I was a long time Taylormade consumer. Original SIM was an amazing driver. High launch low spin. Used to play mine down at 7 deg and hit 340 yd bombs all day long. Cracked the face and Taylormade replaced it with the first gen Stealth. Couldn't launch that driver and didn't like the look or feel. Switched to Cobra. Won't go back to Taylormade until they abandon carbon wood face technology. Cobras success in the last few years is a combination of a great product and the misstep of Taylormade with the Stealth. I bet if you ran a poll a lot of people switched from Taylormade to Cobra with the advent of Stealth and carbon wood.

For me, the stealth scares me. For no other reason than the carbon face. Coming from a baseball background, I know that carbon has a much shorter lifespan than with metal. I have no doubt that the numbers and ease of use is top tier. But the longevity concerns is what prevents me from spending the money on it. I’m sure it’s my own biases about the tech, but that’s my reasoning.

"Gents. We all know when we like the look of something we're more inclined to perform at a higher level." Lol
