Turning up the preload on throttle, changing spring on clutch and installing the P-HYS hydraulic kit on brake will put these way above the P2000 I think. The two brake connectors are for the load cell and the magnetic sensor that can calculate the angle of the pedals instead of the pressure from the load cell. Like that if ppl don't like the feel or the precision of the load cell, they can switch to the magnetic sensor while having still a good resistance on the pedals.

    Supposedly the idea of the idea with the two brake sensors (I believe mentioned by Simagic) is that the angle sensor is more suited for softer pedal setups to avoid the loss of brake pressure with the softer elastomers weakening and losing braking force, and the load cell is supposed to be better with stiffer elastomer setups.

    Hi Laurence, nice to see your channel has grown so quickly since you hit the 10k subs. Don't know exactly why they choose to have a loadcell and angle sensor, but Race beyound Matter made a video about the fundamental flaw in the decision of sim pedal manufacturers to place elastomers between the input force and the loadcell censor. When elastomers are put under load it will initially resist and then relax. The input drops 10%. He has the P1000 also and tested the accuracy of the input of the loadcell and angle sensor, and he claims the angle sensor was more accurat. Maybe you should watch the video ( and follow Race Beyound Matter), because it's kind a hard to explaine.

There's a lot to digest. I didn't even get to cover the simhub integration yet :p I need time with the pedals to offer comparisons or advice, but in their default form, they're not as good as sprints for sure. These pedals look great. I'm personally not a fan of the pedals being mounted all together on a tray. I have Fanatec V3s currently. and my biggest gripe is that i cant easily adjust them laterally. Time could be taken to possibly make some new spacers for them, maybe even 3D print some. For now I've settled with just adjusting the pedal faces. in this case with the p1000, I understand it with the way the made it so easy to plug in the haptic motors. Still would be nice to have more adjustability of individual pedal position. Interesting pedals for sure. the LED's are cool but not really needed IMO. Nice to have the options available when shopping around. As i have only been into sim in the last couple of years, the market has exploded in just this short amount of time. Thanks for the vid LD!

    I could be wrong but I tested the P1 Sim Mistral pedals at the expo last weekend and while driving I didn't know yet they had rumble motors. But I had such great feeling on the brake that I think these motors reported tyre slip for locked tyres etc, they come out in 2 weeks, maybe you can get a review sample, would be very interesting Oh by the way, the founders of these P1 pedals also made a video explaining (in French, but there are subtitles) the pedals and they also have both a loadcell and a hallsensor measurement and they said it's there so that you can better set up individual curves in the software for specific cars. So it's not meant for the driving measurement but rather so that you can match travel and pressure in the software

    @@LaurenceDusoswa At low pressure, during the initial stage of tapping the brake, measuring angle might yield more consistent results than measuring pressure. The brake in that early phase is more like the clutch and throttle, where people tend to have a better feel for angle than pressure, when the latter is low to begin with. Therefore a hybrid, angle sensor and pressure/force sensor, method doesn’t seem weird, to give the most consistent performance through all phases of braking.

    Hello Laurence love the review but Ive noticed something you need to change: You test in that single seater, and you should really put the brake pressure down a lot (in setup) so that you can actually use 95% of the braking force without locking up. I feel like this car test impedes your judgement as you are defining pedals at their ability to be at 40-70% load and not right up against their designed limit. Also just a setup tip in general, lower that brake pressure in setup when the brakes are particulalry sensitive, on AC at the very least it doesnt inpact braking performance.

  • @LaurenceDusoswa

    @LaurenceDusoswa

    9 ай бұрын

    Thanks for the input. To an extent you are correct. But open wheelers are notoriously sensitive, kind of like a go kart. There’s not a lot of weight over those wheels. And although I usually only show that car and track in my videos, I also try iracing and ACC and sometimes even dirt rally 2.0. But there are lots of cars which don’t require a full 100% pedal press before lockup. I would even argue that if you reduce your braking force, you could miss out on braking potential in a straight line or a high grip corner. And finally, and probably most importantly, I review the feel and ability of pedals. It is essential for me to be able to prevent lockups consistently without relying on software aids. Hope that all clarifies it a bit, and gives some insight into my thorough review process.

    It’s not a review. It’s a first impressions :) I don’t wanna do a video full of assumptions and taking knowledge for granted. I also don’t watch other people’s videos before releasing my long term review. It’s just my style for these videos. The full long term review is in the works and much more knowledgeable.

    Again a nicefull Video! My Question is (near to buy Simagic Produkts): if I have the P1000 Pedals, is there a Powersuply in the Box, and when i'll Upgrade the Pedals with Haptic Reactors, do I need a second powersuply, because the Pedals have just one. They seid "Haptic Reactors and Lightbar/RGB Footrest needs a powersuply". Do they realy need an extra power? Does the Pedal Powersuply not have enough power for Pedals, Haptic and RGB? Hope someone can help me. Greetings from Germany

    Isn't the Whole point of vibrating pedals is to help you figure out the position feedback better? Doesn't the strength of the vibration not tell you how far you are in the pedal? Whats the point then for the vibration

  • @LaurenceDusoswa

    the vibration is either on or off. it doesn't get more or less. if it's on, the effect is happening. if it's off, it's not. In real cars the wheels are either locked or they're not. there's no such thing as locking up a little.

    @@LaurenceDusoswahow about the throttle and clutch? Throttle is just on or off?? Pffff And it’s not just about lock up. The vibration on how deep into your brakes in a real car should be there. It’s not just about lock up.

    Hi, I bought the Simmagic pedals and the corresponding feedback motors. Unfortunately, I can't get the feedback motors to work on an OpenWheeler in iRacing. Neither the throttle responds to oversteer (tires spin) nor the brakes when the tires block. The tests via Simhub work. The ABS function also works in a GT3 car. But even here the "skidding" on the gas pedal does not work. Does anyone here have any experience? I once got the tip to set the "Effect settings" from "use lock and slip". Unfortunately I can't change this because the software "grays out" the check button and blocks it from being selected. If I understand Simhub and the function of the motors correctly, the ABS function in Simhub is for cars with ABS. But the wheel lock is an extra setting and here I assumed that this can then be used for non-ABS cars. Can someone help PLEASE 😢 and clarify or explain ??? Many Thanks !
