Believe it or not, Tim Follins never used the DMC sample channel for his NES music. Each bass kick is made with 7 rapidly decreasing hits of the triangle channel accentuated with the noise channel to mimic compression. That on top of maintaining a bass line with the triangle channel and hi-hats + snare on the noise channel. The dude was a genius! BTW, if you want to see what I'm talking about, download NSFPlay and find the NSF music file for Silver Surfer, then open the keyboard view. From there you can slow the song down up to 8X and visually see how he makes all that sound happen.

That's what brought me here.

Is this even the same game I remember as a kid? 'Cause this guy makes it look stupid easy... it's almost sickening, yet I strangely feel satisfied as this game gets it's digital nuts handed to it.

this is a pretty short game so it wouldn't be so bad dying towards the end and having to start over. people do no hit runs on games that take 4 or 5 hours to complete, that would be pretty stressful at the end because you'd have to replay all those hours again to get back there.

Firelord has some nice eyeliner.

The Nerd: This game is so hard, it would actually be easier to go outside in a thunderstorm and try to dodge rain. It would be easier to walk barefoot, without your toes or heels touching the floor. It'd be easier to pick fly shit out of pepper... while wearing boxing gloves! The fact you can get hit only once, pretty much means that you're weaker than every other enemy in the game. HOW DO YOU DIE FROM JUST TOUCHING A WALL?! I can understand if he's flying at like 200 miles per hour and he crashes into the wall, but the fact that he just touches the wall and dies, is just ridiculous. I never read any of the comics, so I don't know what Silver Surfer's powers are, but isn't he supposed to be pretty strong? So why'd they make him into a wimp?! Why is he fuckin' up rubber ducks and weepin' like a crybaby? It's like some sort of fuckin' joke! Like what if they had Bruce Lee tripping over his own shoelaces? It's a fuckin' insult! This game should've been classic! But instead, it's worthless! It's as worthless as this fuckin' LJN poster I have back here! Man, I would just piss and shit all over this fuckin' game! In fact, JUST THINKING ABOUT IT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE HAVIN' AN ANAL EVACUATION! (Swigs some Yuengling) Fuck...! (Gets up, takes game out, and then throws it to the wall in rage.)

The red S symbol you can collect is a speed up. After collecting one you are at max speed that lasts until you lose a life. The silver S is simply an extra life.

These are bombs. The Select key will trigger one. It instantly wipes all current enemies from the screen. Triple Matt denied himself that benefit, compensating by indulging in a turbo fire button.

Wow. What is your opinion about this game being titled amongst the most horrible ever made? And hardest ever made? I absolutely look upon it as "one of the most stupid games ever made that I will always tell people about and never really attempt to complete in my life" sort of deal xD

One needs to learn a long choreography. However there is almost no RNG to it. If one does not want to devote too much time to it, it becomes a fair challenge for casual players if one allows for the occasional save state.

I'd give him a pat on the back for his feats, but that'd probably kill him

This one becomes bearable with a turbo controller. Also, harder games come to mind. E. g., Cauldron on the C64. However, a no-death run on Silver Surfer is an impressive feat in my book, even using a TC.
