You should do a video like this for every epic collection line.

Just wanted to say thank you for not completely spoiling the stories while trying to explain what each book is about. I've gotten so many things spoiled from watching these types of videos...including someone just blurting out the very end of house of M.

Hey, no problem. Even though these stories are old, they are still new to some people. I am sorry someone ruined the ending of House of M, but wasn’t the wedding of Xavier and Magneto just lovely???

I enjoy your positivity on books like SS volume 1 and books where they are compilations of appearances of characters before their own series. I’d never buy one due to double dipping but glad there’s someone playing devils advocate.

I really think Volume 1: When Calls Galactus would have been a homerun if they had included the 1978 Kirby/Lee Fireside Graphic Novel, which has never been reprinted.

Yes! That’s great! All the Silver Surfer volumes I’ve read are excellent!

I hate Fantastic Four, but I love Silver Surfer, so I'm really glad these epic collections exist, and I'm glad Marvel doesn't assume that I as a Surfer fan would be buying the FF books.

I'll skip Vol. 1 (and 2 when it's released) since I have all that material in my FF and Silver Surfer Masterworks TPBs. I have Vol. 3 and will now be getting the other volumes, even though I have issues 1-69 of the 80s-90s series. ••• Thank you for doing this!

Editing takes so much time that I doubt I will go back to old episodes. But I will do more stuff like this moving forward!

Kurtis, I really enjoyed this video. I usually just collect certain Epic lines and am always on the fence about collecting a new one. This is a great run down on an entire line really helps me decide 1) What to collect first 2) What is double dipped in other volumes 3) The uncollected material 4) (most important) What might spoil other volumes if I read certain ones. Thanks for a great video.

Volume one has already been reprinted once and it sold out fast, so I’m sure it will come back again. Volume 2 hasn’t been announced yet. Not sure when that volume is coming.

Does Volume 1 cut any pages out of the Galactus Trilogy or is it the complete story? I wanted to check that story out but I can’t find the FF Epic Collection Vol. 3, so I wanted to get this as a cheaper alternative.

The Coming of Galactus begins halfway through issue 48 and ends halfway through issue 50. The SS Epic doesn’t collect the first part of 48 or the last part of 50 for this reason.

Would you need to wait to get volume 5 for the rebirth of thanos issues before you read thanos quest or would it be ok to start straight from thanos quest? I love watching this video and would like you to do more characters like this eg Spider-Man in the future.😀

Good question! The Thanos story does start in volume 5, but that arc get completed and Surfer goes off and does some other stuff for a bit which is where Volume 6 starts, so it is fine to jump in cold with volume 6. If you really want to read that before story, track down a trade called Silver Surfer: Rebirth of Thanos.

Yes, you are correct, Thanos Quest is the events leading up to Infinity Gauntlet. The Epic called Infinity Gauntlet is not actually the miniseries but rather about ten issues of tie-in stories that relate to the mini-series.

The Return of Thanos Epic comes right before Thanos Quest Epic and is the start to the whole Infinity story.

That's a great question. Right now they are making Omnis of the Epics that have been out of print for a long time. Maybe we won't see Star Wars Epic reprints for a while. Time will tell.
