    Some mornings, I get up, break out the Chromebook, brew a pot of coffee, and put on a live "Lo-Fi Cafe" video. It's nice to just chill out in near silence, to be alone with your thoughts, to have the space to think, to breathe, to exist. Great video, dude. Really conveyed that peaceful and relaxed feeling.

    This is one of the best utility videos you've posted for me personally. I always feel like I have to do a lot to my photos in editing. Not because they necessarily need it, but just because I worry about their quality. It was super nice to see how little you do, but yet get the most bang out of every adjustment! Thanks man :)

    I love this. Not that Peter is silent.... but that Peter's personality can show through in silence. It takes a little humility to keep one's mouth shut. This is a gem of a video. Peter, what if you had lost both hands in an accident and could no longer do the thing you love? That thought leads to bigger thoughts and produces humility. You have a few weeks to be in a place to reflect a little on your blessings. You have people who will continue to support you, even if you can't do the work right now. THAT is a huge blessing. People love you, mister.

What are your experiences with it and how does it compare to your now days working flow? And has it had any impact on your work with DSLRs and mirrorless cameras? I myself started with DSLRs and then bought an mirrorless camera and just resently got in to film cameras and I have to say I love the thrill and working process and find myself thinking much more of what I’m photographying. I'm pausing 5 seconds before the end just to say, Peter...I've watched more of your videos than I can count. But this, you've said nothing. It was scored, it somehow had a script without words, and it was profound. A very very simple way to blend photography, and videography, while also highlighting a process. You captured in a very short time a very clean way to show the editing processes of what was also a very very arduous process even GETTING the shots you edited in this video. I've watched those videos, you went to great length, time, and distance to even capture the shots you showed in this video. This is why I will ALWAYS SUPPORT "the artist" Peter McKinnion.

    My question stems from an photo editor's point of view: May one *benefit* from Apple's Mini-LED display for the M1 iPad Pro 12.9' during post-processing (in Photoshop Lightroom)? Or will one only get to witness the "glory" brightness of 1000 nits and beyond *only* when *viewing* HDR content? I've been told that Apple's new XDR projects at around 500/ 600 nits during normal usage. Do you notice any micro-contrast detail improvements when editing on the 12.9' mini-LED vs the normal 11'? Please advise, and thank you in advance.

  • @MusaonYT

    @MusaonYT

    2 жыл бұрын

    The iPad display's brightness level will go higher only when HDR content is viewed. You do not benefit from higher brightness levels when you're editing photos for the social media platforms, or to publish on the internet in general, because those photos will be in sRGB color space, which maxes out at only 100 nits. Same with video editing. The SDR videos published online are in Rec.709 color space (which also peaks out at 100 nits of brightness). But you will benefit from the color accuracy of the iPad display, that is only if you do not already have a color accurate display, like an external monitor color calibrated for photo and video editing.

    @@groenhoender I was replying to his question about which size iPad was used in the video. Yes the 12.9 makes more sense. That’s the one I have. But it’s based on what you are using it for. And if you already have a laptop, then the 11 inch will be better for portability

    @@jehusaunders8482 Yeah, that makes sense on what one wants to do with it. I have the older 10.5" and sometimes I feel I need more screen estate, especially with UX design drawing. Agree with you there re the 11" for portability. Thanks.

    I loved this video, man! Pretty relaxing and definitely a different approach than the typical "PWHATS UP GUYS" intro, which I still enjoy. But this is more related to how I edit photos, with classical music or chillstep in the background. Gets the mind working in so many different ways. Hope to see more, Pete!
