Shattered Memories at least did Psychological good, i won't say it can be stand with the first 4 installment of Team Silent But at least it better than the rest that Western developed. Yes, It's gameplay is not as welcome, it's graphic and content also but hey, it's a reimagine and definately don't touch anything on Team Silent's Legacy. In Fact if you got Bad Ending in SH1 it may resume in Shattered Memories. Downpour is not that good, lmao... It still using concept from the old Silent Hill with some changing...

Even though Shattered Memories didn't have the same horror element as the other titles, it's still high on my list because of the sheer emotional game it was. it wasn't that scary but it didn't need to be

Shattered memories (wii version) is worse game than the original game it is based on, but as a psychological game is MUUUUCH better than the original. More direct, more simple, more pure. It contains the essence, and the brain takes its content far more easily. It had a huge impact in me and I had played (and loved) the original before... But to the people that like psychological horror, Eternal darkness. It's something totally different from this, it takes the genre from a different point of view, less artistic we could say, more related to the style of Lovecraft. In fact, in my opinion that could be the best Lovecraft game ever, and it's only indirectly based on his books...

Should clarify, the solo at 3:33 is not 'Theme of Laura', it's the string melody from the end of the SH1 theme (1:54-2:19) though 'Theme of Laura' (specifically 2:03-2:15) was probably intentionally designed to sound similar to that original melody (see SH1's 'Not Tomorrow' and the main guitar lick from SH2's 'Promise' for example). Akira Yamaoka loves to make references to motifs set up in past work/previous games, especially if a song/game carries the same thematic relevance, for example, SH3's 'I Want Love (Studio Mix)' also calls back to the same part of SH1's theme in it's solo (2:54-3:15) as well as SH4's 'Your Rain' (2:54-3:15), and both 'Waiting For You' from SH4 and 'Love Psalm' from BoM call back to 'Theme of Laura' in their solos, the latter is also a rework of the song of the same name from SH2, but w/ McGlynn alongside Yamaoka.

I've only played three SH games. The 1st, Origins and Shattered Memories. The 1st had an amazing history, powerful music that's scares a lot. Origins had good music but it wasn't scary as the 1st. Shattered Memories makes me feels like i am in the game, the music is beautiful, Devil's Laughter is amazing, Endless Depths was fucking good; the history, the characters, the environment, all that was incredible; I almost cry whit the Drunk Dad ending and I almost die from a Heart Attack when you need to take pictures in the middle of a Nightmare. I just get a PS 2 and when i get the others silent hill's games i will have some good time.

I only got around to finishing Silent Hill, Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill: Homecoming. I am about to go back and replay the first two, Silent Hill 3 (played but never finished, and I will kick myself in the ass untill I do) and Silent Hill 4: the Room (same as Silent Hill 3, I stopped midway through the back-tracking sections) and I feel like I have to at least try finishing Origins and Shattered Memories (never actually played Shattered Memories) through emulators (as cheap as they can be found, I don't have money for PS2 and Wii). Shame I will not get a chance to experience Downpour any time soon since I have a feeling I would like it at least like fractions of the first 4. Didn't like Homecoming nor Origins, and I only finished Homecoming thinking I will at least get something out of the whole thing when in reality the only thing it has left me with is a sour taste in my mouth.

Aww... That sounded so awesome! I wish these little features stayed. Especially the Earth Day's light switch. Amazingly fitting for a song called Hell Frozen Rain.

I love shattered memories. Someone tell me, it’s no weapon, it’s boring. Yes, I’m bored, It can only use flare and run away. And I not good in English, I confused when doctor interview someone. But if you patient until the last scene in lighthouse, it’s absolutely beautiful when harry say to cherryl “ Forgive me” and become to frozen ( I think, I got sad ending ) , it’s clear all my question along game.

I honestly loved this game, i liked the atmosphere and the hollow feeling the town had. It was more like a dream than any of the other games and i thought it had the most somber ending, really bleak shit. Not that SH is rainbows and sunshine but this one just got to the heart strings a bit more, also screamed nostalgia. Play it on the Wii though!

This is one of my favorite SH games lol, only beaten out by SH2 and 3. The story is absolutely fantastic

Beautiful

I personally think this was the best Silent Hill since The room. I liked the creepy environments and i have a pretty crazy imagination so i would always think there's something around the corner. However it sucked how there was a lack of combat and the lack of enemy types. Other than that it was a great experience. Too short for me though.

This was actually the first Silent Hill that I played and it was done using a Slim PS2, a rom file and Free McBoot on a memory card

In pretty much every video about silent hill video, I hear someone complain about a silent game not being good, or keeps comparing one silent hill to another. But I don't recall anyone comparing a silent hill series to another work of horror or any another creative work for that matter. Let's face it, the horror genre has gone through the toilet in resent years. Beside for a few good works of horror I could mention, the only horror work we have to show for digital age is this game series. I would gladly take Silent Hill 4 and SM over your cheap "boobs, guts, and stupidity" that stands for "horror" these days.

Grigorescu Petru It is a Horror Drama film about a Vietnam Veteran who suffers from flashbacks of his painful past and visions of demons. Silent Hill fans believe that this movie partly inspired the Otherworld and the silent hill monsters, (especially the hospital scene.)

Definitivamente. Tienes toda la razón. Es que la intervenciones de los instrumentos de Akira Yamaoka, las letras de Joe Romersa y la talentosa voz de Mary Elizabeth hacen de Silent Hill, mi banda sonora de videojuegos preferida. Las canciones son excelentes.

@haloman2814 Not really, it actually takes place after. More around the time of Silent Hill 3. Just in an alternate universe. Cuz this game is a what if scenario. It takes place after the very bad ending of Silent Hill 1 where Harry is dying in a car crash and he hallucinated the whole thing.
